This is the engine you have been looking for to finish your AAR or T/A project!  This is an actual 1970 T/A coded motor!  This is not a regular 340, it is an actual T/A-AAR motor, just look at the pictures!  This listing includes the block, crank, heads, rods, pistons, timing chain cover, oil pan, and some other parts.  It DOES NOT include the six pak manifold and three carburetors.  Manifold and carbs are available to buyer of engine at a price to be determined, they are not available without the engine.  I have a 1970 AAR Cuda that would love to have them installed on it, but I do not need the motor as I intend to race this car and would not want to hurt such a rare block.  This engine has NO VIN stamped on the VIN pad so it must be a warranty return motor.  I do not believe that someone milled an old VIN off but you be the judge.  The number 3 cylinder has been sleeved but still needs finishing.  The block, crank, and heads, have all been MPI tested and all pass.  However, there is one broken tab for the tranny mount on the back of the block.  I am sure a competent welder could fix this for you and you would not be able to tell once it is painted.  This is a rare opportunity to not only purchase an original T/A marked motor, but to purchase one with a clear VIN pad and turn yours into a numbers matching car!!  Every guy with a non-matching motor dreams of finding his original, so here it is!  Everything is clean just as you see in the pictures and currently locked away in storage.  Please ask any questions that you may have and I'll do my best to answer them.  If there are specific things you would like me to check on the engine, let me know and I can do that as well.  I don't know much about engines so no surprise if I missed something!  I do know how rare and valuable this motor is though, so please no low ball offers.  In fact, offers of $500 will get nothing but a smile and laugh in return as this engine is worth 5 figures easy : )  Feel free to call or text me at 4O6 53I 54O5 for questions, comments, or just to chat about old fun cars.  I would be willing to entertain trades as well.  I like old cars, guns, and aircraft.  In fact, my airplane needs an annual and I would be happy to get one done as a partial trade.  Engines with VINs on them and rebuilds needed have gone for $15,000 on here several times I hear, so one that is ready to be built like new and VIN free should be worth that easy.  Shipping is your responsibility, but I'll do what I can to help.  Local pickup would of course be best, but I may be able to deliver it to the west coast in about a month.  I can take more pictures of markings if you like, just send me a request and phone number I can text them to or email you would like them sent to.  Thanks for looking!

I have had a VERY ANGRY TYPING fellow member point out some issues with the motor.  Apparently the broken ear on the block cannot be fixed?  My local guy assures me otherwise.  Granted, he blows up a motor every year going for (and setting) records at Bonneville so he is used to broken engines.  The heads are also apparently incorrect.  I'll have to check with the guy I got her from and see if he has the other set, but for now, consider the pictured heads the ones included.  As far as the sleeved cylinder, I have not heard before that this makes an engine junk.  It is a common way to repair a valuable block, or at least that's what I was always told.  Again, any questions, feel free to ask.  No need to slam your computer keys in anger to get your point across.

ANOTHER UPDATE!  I have had a couple emails and phone calls now from AAR-T/A collectors that have assured me that these are in fact AAR heads.  A few of the guys are the owners of multiple AAR's and T/A's so they have some pretty good references!  I also had one guy ask the numbers of the carbs that I had and they are correct for an automitic transmission car.  Also, some of the casting marks on this block have in fact identified it as an actual warranty replacement block!  So if you're car doesn't have its original engine, this is the perfect replacement!  So NO VIN is correct for this block and it HAS NOT had someones old VIN milled off!  I was also informed though that the valve covers are incorrect.  They are just regular valve covers.  I do have the correct original valve covers on my AAR though so maybe we can work something out.  And as far as the sleeved cylinder and the broken ear, several people have said that is no big deal.  Much as I had understood in the first place.  Thanks for all the help those of you that have called and written!!!!

Copies of Questions from the last round:

Q: Just to help shut that guy up. It's pretty evident that he hasn't a clue to what he's talking about. If you look closely at the picture you posted of the underside of the heads you'll see it is clearly marked U. Also, it's already been said but the real certainty belongs to the fact that the offset intake rocker arm pushrod holes are off center or relocated to allow for bigger intake ports. I have two complete sets one of which is on a TA warranty engine to confirm all I'm saying. Good Luck..............Chet Sep-05-13
A: Cool! Thanks again for the help gents!
Q: I had four or five sets of T/A heads and they all look like your with the offset pushrod hole in the heads. I don't no what he taking about a regular heads would have a round hole for the pushrods. gary Sep-05-13
A: Thanks for the info! Quite a relief to me!
Q: If you interested in selling just the 8 offset intake rocker arms only, that is if the whole engine doesn't sell and you decide to part it out, keep me in mind and let me know how much. P.S. They are TA OR AAR heads Paul Sep-05-13
A: I'll keep you in mind! If someone wants everything else, we'll have a deal! Thanks!
Q: FOR ONE,A COMP WELDER CANT FIX THE BUSTED EAR ON BLOCK,IT WILL BREAK AGAIN FOR SURE! FOR TWO...A RESLEEVE? WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK!! FOR THREE,THESE ARE CHEAP A** J HEADS WHICH WERE ON ALL SMOGED UP 340's,NOT SIXPACK HEADS WHICH MAKES ME DOUBT THAT YOU HAVE AN ORIGINAL MANIFOLD/CARBS AND FINALLY...YOU CANNOT JUST STAMP A # ON BLOCK AND HAVE A #'s MATCHING CAR!!! YOUR MORE THAN WILLING TO TRY AND SCAM THE PUBLIC WITH JUNK YOU BOUGHT,WHY DONT YOU POST THIS ONE,I BET YOU WONT!!!!!!!!!! Sep-02-13
A:

I have no problem posting it : ) As I said in the listing, feel free to correct me. No need to get upset and go ALL CAPS on me. If it's complete junk, then no need to bid. So you can't have a matching number then? I guess I don't understand. If a guy has blown the original motor in his car, than I guess he can have a blank rebuild block. As far as the manifold and carbs, no worries there as they are not available without the motor that you clearly do not want. Should someone be interested in them along with the motor, I imagine they would want pictures to verify what they are prior to making a deal. I know I certainly would.

And another received right at auction end:

Dear jollyrogerf14,

Looking at a couple pictures...you clearly see the offsetted intake rocker arms in the pan..and the heads are drilled for offsetted pushrods...as an owner of an AARCuda for 40 yrs..the heads are real...
