For auction is (1) connecting rod from a c1925 American LaFrance Type 12 engine. Unfortunately I do not have the cap and bolts for this rod; what you see is it. Will require rebuilding before use; wristpin bush, re-babbiting. Part number on connecting rod is 12E-3605R-L. Center distance is 14". Note this rod is for the later Type 12 engine cylinders with round water domes. The connecting rod is too long for the shorter cylinders with the oval water dome. I have five connecting rod and piston assemblies from this same engine for sale, as well as other engine parts; see my other listings. Just the spare parts that you need for you fire engine or to drill lightening holes in for your ALF speedster! The Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C launches in Japan today Subaru has today launched the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C on to the Japanese market. Subaru are building just 900 Spec C cars which feature a number of improvements over the already available STI spec. Subaru has dropped the weight – by an undisclosed amount – by fitting a smaller battery, aluminium bonnet and laminar glass at the front and sides.

London's GPS-based speed-limit trial puts Big Brother's foot on the gas pedal

A fleet of 12 Toyota Priuses in London have been fitted with GPS-linked speed limiters to measure how drivers respond to having their speed controlled by a computer rather than their own feet. For now, the trial is local to London, run by Transport for London, the agency that manages the city's roads, buses, subways and trains. The agency is using its own fleet of Priuses for the test and will add a bus and a taxi later this year.

Texting tragedy recounted by state trooper

Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood is spreading messages aimed at ending distracted driving in honor of tweet, LaHood shared a touching story written by a Kansas state trooper. In the story, trooper Casey Simoneau recounts taking inventory of a car accident scene. The accident was caused by one driver hitting another car head-on after attempting to pass while texting.
