Based on the Smart Passion trim, the GrandStyle gets a set of 15″ gloss black alloys, LEd running lights, titanium-coloured surrounds for the headlights, ‘grandstyle’ logos and a choice of five exterior and tridion colours. IED collaborates with McLaren to create the crossovers of 2020
Wed, 17 Nov 2010Students from the Istituto Europeo di Design, Turin have collaborated with British super car manufacturer, McLaren Automotive, to design an off-road, hybrid two-seater for 2020. The 33, third-year post-diploma Transportation Design students were briefed by McLaren Automotive design director, Frank Stephenson, to create a car capable of 'combining sports excellence, driving thrills and the McLaren performance characteristics both off- and on-road'. "McLaren Automotive's plans are wholly based on two-seat, mid-engined performance cars," explained Stephenson.
Porsche CEO likely to bow to pressure to leave, report says
Wed, 22 Jul 2009Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking is likely to bow to pressure from the Porsche family to step down, a German newspaper report said on Wednesday. Business daily Handelsblatt said that the two parties had already reached agreement that the chief executive should go and that a formal decision could come by Thursday, when the company's supervisory board meets. The newspaper also said, however, that Wiedeking would fight to keep his job.
