This auction is for a Continental O-470 / IO-470 aircraft engine cylinder including the rocker shafts. This cylinder is Continental part number 626820 R and is in used condition as removed during an engine upgrade. This cylinder is standard bore with no corrosion of the cylinder walls and no scoring. The cross hatch is still visible from most of the cylinder bore. The valve seats look good but will need to be faced before installing new valves. Looking over the cylinder there are no cracks or cracking anywhere that I could see. This cylinder would be a perfect candidate for overhauling while you are still flying your aircraft. Although this cylinder looks to be in good serviceable condition, we are selling it "as is and as removed" with no warranty of any type offered or implied.

The Port Townsend Aero Museum received this cylinder as part of a large donation made to us by a local gentleman who had recently sold his Beechcraft Bonanza. This cylinder was included in his inventory of spare parts which he deemed "serviceable" or as "core".  As with any used aircraft part  you will need to have your licensed aircraft mechanic determine the airworthiness of this part prior to installation into your aircraft.

This cylinder is being offered for auction by the Port Townsend Aero Museum in Port Townsend Washington. We are a non-profit 501 C-3 organization that is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of antique and classic aircraft through the involvement of our local youth population. If you have a minute you can learn more about our aero museum on the internet by searching for Port Townsend Aero Museum.

Thank you.
