Fri, 10 Jul 2009Huge news at Mercedes-Benz: Engineers from its AMG performance-car offshoot are developing a plug-in electric version of the upcoming SLS supercar as part of a broad-based efficiency program to place the automaker at the leading edge of socially acceptable performance-car motoring. Tentatively planned for production in 2015, the new zero-emission supercar draws heavily on the production version of the yet-to-be-fully-revealed SLS scheduled to get its first public outing at the Frankfurt motor show on Sept. 15.
Bentley’s biofuel Continental at Geneva 2009
Wed, 28 Jan 2009Bentley's biofuel Continental GT By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 28 January 2009 00:01 Can Bentleys ever be green? Very few details have been released – not even a name for this shadow-shrouded first image – but the car appears to be based on the Continental family, judging by that familiar snout.
Subaru BRZ STI teased
Mon, 05 Aug 2013Subaru are teasing the BRZ STI (pictured) The Subaru BRZ – the Subaru take on the Toyota GT86 – has the potential to be a lot more hardcore than its current setup allows. That has led to much speculation that Subaru will bolt a turbo on to the BRZ’s Boxer engine to produce a BRZ with something closer to the 300bhp we originally expected. In fact, at the end of 2011, Subaru in the US confirmed there would be a turbo version of the engine in the BRZ, although they fell short of actually confirming the BRZ itself would get it as an option, but at the end of 2012 we had a report that the BRZ will get the turbo engine and that it will deliver 280bhp.
