*** This listing is ONLY for people doing custom installations & trans swaps.  It is not intended for any OE application (see my other listings for complete kits where available). ***

Core / Hurst short throw shifter base for T56 6 speed trans sourced from:

  • 1993-2002 Camaro Z28 & Firebird Trans Am
  • 1994-1997 Holden HSV Commodore VR & VS
  • Does NOT fit GTO or Holden Commodore VT-VZ - see my other listings
  • It only fits at the tail mount location like OE (for relocation to forward inspection port, see my other listings)

READ THIS:  The "regular" Hurst shifter 3915061 designed for use in a Camaro has a stub that is bent 11 degrees toward the driver (I sell this shifter in complete kits in my other listings).  The shifter being offered here has a straight stub, allowing the use of any Hurst stick in a custom application.  PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS if you have a 1993-2002 Camaro or Firebird, it will not fit right!

I offer similar shifter bases for T56 trans sourced from GTO, SSR, & Viper (each of these is different), as well as direct fit bases to replace cantilevered shifters on 2008+ TR6060 models (Camaro, Challenger, CTS-V, GT500, etc).

This is a custom shifter base composed of readily available Hurst Billet Plus component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA).  It functions like any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter, but in a custom configuration (which Hurst does not offer).  This shifter was designed to yield about 38% throw reduction over OE.  You can mount any Hurst bolt-on stick to this base.  I sell many in my other listings.  This base includes mounting hardware, dust boot, and instructions.  It does not have stops and does not need them; all modern internal rail trans have internal stops.  However if you prefer, stops can be added for $12 more, email me to request.

Fulcrum options:

  • 2.53" fulcrum (default offered in this listing) is best for 8-10" stick length.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 3.07" above base flange.
  • 3.03" fulcrum ($10 extra) for 10"+ stick length.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 3.57" above base flange.
  • 3.22" fulcrum ($15 extra) for 10"+ stick length, with higher stick mounting point to fit dust boot under stick.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 4.58" above base flange.
  • 3.66" fulcrum ($20 extra) is an option for 14"+ stick length, but stick mounts at 14 degree angle toward left.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 5.38" above base flange.
  • 2.13" fulcrum ($10 extra) is available for sticks up to 7", but stick mounts at 11 degree angle toward left.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 3.52" above base flange.
  • For all optional fulcrums, please EMAIL PRIOR TO PURCHASE!

All Core & Hurst shifter bases that accept a bolt-on stick have 3/8"-24 threaded holes spaced apart 7/8".  Due to larger mounting threads (3/8"-24), stock sticks that use 8mm mounting bolts cannot be used.  If you are doing a trans swap and not sure which Hurst chrome stick you need for your custom application, please see:  http://www.core-shifters.com/hurst2004sticks.pdf

This Core Shifter shares many of the same superior features & components found in Hurst Billet Plus Shifters, integrated into a unique, exclusive base assembly:

  • Forged heat-treated billet steel gear selector
  • Precision-ground stainless steel pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • Glass-reinforced polyamide pivot cup insert with steel wear clips
  • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
  • 6061-T6 extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
  • Phosphate-coated laser-cut steel base-plate and cover
  • Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
  • Optional adjustable positive gear stops (extra charge)
  • Rubber dust cover boot
  • High quality and outstanding value!

BMW has just revealed the all-new 1 Series. The German automaker's second generation B-segment contender has grown 83mm longer, 14mm wider and has had its wheelbase stretched 30mm over its predecessor. Though the 1 Series is the smallest vehicle in the range, the new car retains proportions typical of BMW, with a long hood and wheelbase and a set-back cabin.

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

Australians Rod Wade and Michael Flanders will be making a second attempt to drive from New York to Los Angeles in less than 60 hours on Nov. 22, after their first attempt ended two weeks ago with their 1930 Ford Model A suffering a mechanical failure 38 hours into the trip. That effort began in the early morning hours of Oct.
