*** This listing is ONLY for people doing custom installations & trans swaps.  It is not intended for any OE application (see my other listings for complete kits where available). ***

Core / Hurst short throw shifter base for T56 6 speed trans from 2005-2006 Chevy SSR roadster truck ONLY - no other models!  It only fits at the tail mount location like OE (for relocation to forward inspection port, see my other listings).

*** If you want a shifter for use in a SSR truck, please do not buy this listing - see my other listing for the complete kit. ***

I offer similar shifter bases for T56 trans sourced from Camaro / Firebird, GTO, & Viper (each of these is different), as well as direct fit bases to replace cantilevered shifters on 2008+ TR6060 models (Camaro, Challenger, CTS-V, GT500, etc).

This is a custom shifter base composed of readily available Hurst Billet Plus component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA).  It functions like any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter but in a configuration Hurst does not offer.  This shifter was designed to yield about 38% throw reduction over OE.  You can mount any Hurst bolt-on stick to this base.  I sell many in my other listings.  This base includes mounting hardware, dust boot, and instructions.  It does not have stops and does not need them; all modern internal rail trans have internal stops.  However if you prefer, stops can be added for $12 more, email me to request.

Fulcrum options:

  • 2.53" fulcrum (default offered in this listing) is best for 8-10" stick length.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 3.07" above base flange.
  • 3.03" fulcrum ($10 extra) for 10"+ stick length.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 3.57" above base flange.
  • 3.22" fulcrum ($15 extra) for 10"+ stick length, with higher stick mounting point to fit dust boot under stick.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 4.58" above base flange.
  • 3.66" fulcrum ($20 extra) is an option for 14"+ stick length, but stick mounts at 14 degree angle toward left.  Lower stick mount bolt hole is 5.38" above base flange.
  • For all optional fulcrums, please EMAIL PRIOR TO PURCHASE!

If you are doing a trans swap and not sure which Hurst chrome stick you need for your custom application, please see:  http://www.core-shifters.com/hurst2004sticks.pdf

This Core Shifter shares many of the same superior features & components found in Hurst Billet Plus Shifters, integrated into a unique, exclusive base assembly:

Mon, 26 Sep 2011

The Jaguar Future Website Are Jaguar serious about the Jaguar C-X16 Concept? If the launch of a new website detailing every bit of information they can cobble together is anything to go by, the answer is a very reassuring yes. As we wait for solid news on what exactly the Jaguar C-X16 will become for production - the XE badge is by no means a certainty, never mind whether it launches as a convertible too – Jaguar are busying themselves offering up every single morsel of information they can showcase on a new website devoted to the C-X16.

Suzuki Kizashi duo

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

The New York Auto Show played host to a duo of concepts from Suzuki. The polar opposite Kizashi concepts from the brand take in an eco-minded approach as well as a hardcore turbocharged, race inspired model. The Ecocharge adopts the necessary virginal white hue, blue lighting and smaller diameter wheels to cement the fact it is environmentally friendly.
