Core Shifters EXCLUSIVE!! This is a custom Core Shifters base that contains a readily available Hurst Billet Plus component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA). It functions exactly the same as any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter. It includes a Hurst chrome stick and knob, base gasket, mounting bolts, and installation instructions.  Throw reduction should be around 35%.

This shifter kit fits the following applications with the Ford M5OD-R2 5 speed transmission (aka M5R2):

  • 1988-1998 Ford F150 & F250 pickup truck
  • 1988-1996 Ford Bronco
  • Confirm transmission before purchase - does NOT FIT models w/ ZF S5-42 or S5-47
  • This kit includes boot grommet to adapt stock console boot, no aftermarket boot necessary
  • Does NOT FIT 1999+ models - these require a longer stub, email to request as I am judging interest
  • Does NOT FIT M5OD-R1 found in compact trucks - see my other listings

This Core Shifter shares many of the same superior features & components found in Hurst Billet Plus Shifters, integrated into a unique, exclusive base assembly:

  • Forged heat-treated billet steel gear selector
  • Precision-ground stainless steel pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • Glass-reinforced polyamide pivot cup insert with steel wear clips
  • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
  • 6061-T6 extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
  • Phosphate-coated laser-cut steel base-plate and cover
  • Rubber dust cover boot
  • Pan-head allen bolts with toothed lockwashers to mount stick
  • Traditional forged billet steel triple chrome-plated Hurst stick
  • Classic Hurst engraved shift knob
  • High quality and outstanding value!

Tesla planning car to take on Nissan LEAF – and maybe sell out to Apple

Tue, 28 May 2013

Elon Musk is buoyed by the success of the Tesla S and the seemingly inexorable rise in Tesla’s stock which has allowed Tesla to repay its government loans way ahead of schedule. Now Musk has been getting adventurous in an interview with Bloomberg where he’s stated that the next plan for Tesla is to build a smaller, more affordable electric car that can take on the Nissan LEAF. Musk plans to stay in control of Tesla until plans for a news small EV are complete, and said: With the Model S, you have a compelling car that’s too expensive for most people.

Planning continues for driverless cars

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

OFFICIALS in California have been looking to the future as they bid to legislate for the arrival of hi-tech driver-less cars. A law passed in 2012 set a deadline of the end of this year for the state's Department of Motor Vehicles to decide how to legally integrate the so-called autonomous vehicles - which were once the stuff of science fiction but could be commercially available by the end of the decade. The latest talks on the matter among roads officials focused on how the vehicles will record actions so the data can be used to reconstruct an accident in an effort to trace the cause.
