Core Shifter & 6" Hurst Chrome Short Stick 1983-2002 Camaro Firebird T5 5 Speed on 2040-parts.com

This is a custom Core Shifters base that contains a readily available Hurst Billet Plus component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA).  It functions exactly the same as any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter, but in a configuration they do not offer.  This mechanism is smoother and more robust than the original Comp Plus design (391-0032).  It includes a dust cover boot, mounting bolts, and installation instructions.  It does not have stops and does not need them - all modern internal rail trans have internal stops.  However if you wish, you can add stops for $20 more; email to request - this must be requested prior to purchase, it cannot be retrofitted.

This shifter kit is intend for use in the following applications with T5 5 speed:

• 1983-1992 Camaro & Firebird - all models, all engines
• 1993-2002 Camaro & Firebird - V6 only
• Stick is ~1.5" shorter than stock
• Throw reduction is 37% (~3.75" gear-to-gear at top of knob)

Stick & knob info:

Supplied stick is Hurst 538-7201, chrome plated steel, 6" tall, bends ~3/4" rear and none sideways (stub mount is angled 15 degrees to right & 12 degrees rearward).  As mounted this is about 1.5" shorter than stock.  3/8"-16 knob threads (knobs in the stock 16mm thread will not fit).

Knob is Hurst 163-0025, white with imprinted shift pattern (supplied in many Hurst kits), "Hurst" on sides. Jam nut is included.

Black knob also available, specify with payment.
