Core Shifters EXCLUSIVE!!  Short throw shifter equivalent to Hurst 391-5040.  This is a custom Core Shifters base that contains a readily available Hurst Billet Plus component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA).  It functions exactly the same as any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter.  It includes the Hurst chrome stick 238-0090 and Hurst engraved black knob as found in the original kits.  It also includes a dust boot cover, mounting bolts, and installation instructions.  Throw reduction should be around 30%.

This shifter kit ONLY FITS Aisin AX15 5 speed trans in:

  • 1989-1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) w/ 6 cyl engine
  • (1989 models please confirm trans, mid-year change from BA10)
  • 1997-1999 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) w/ 6 cyl engine

 

This shifter DOES NOT fit AX5 (4 cyl), BA10 (older 5 speed), NV1500 (newer 4 cyl), or NV3550 (newer 6 cyl).

Supplied stick is Hurst # 238-0090, 13" tall, bends 7" rear and 2" sideways.  Knob is Hurst # 163-0125, black with engraved shift pattern, "Hurst" on sides, 1 7/8" diameter, jam nut included.

Ford recalls more than 26,000 trucks for faulty switch

Ford Motor Co. is recalling about 26,700 copies of the F-series truck, Excursion SUV and Ranger pickup for a potentially faulty switch that could cause turn signals, taillights and brake lights to malfunction. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, affected vehicles include certain 2002-2007 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks and Excursion SUVs.

New Chinese manufacturer Qoros has shown its new Focus and Golf rival - the GQ3 - ahead of its planned debut at the 2013 Geneva motor show. The first in a string of models planned for launch in China and Europe, the Qoros GQ3 is at first glance a reasonably accomplished design which should be able to compete for showroom appeal with the likes of Skoda and the Korean budget brands. Of course, what has held back Chinese car brands in the past is quality: we can't tell from these first official photos whether Qoros has cracked that or not.

Alfa 4C beats Aston Martin DBS (AM310) to Villa D’Este prize

The Alfa Romeo 4C has beaten the Aston Martin Project AM310 (new AM DBS) to the prize for best concept at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. As you can’t have failed to notice, this last weekend was the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, an elegant and delightful car event on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. And the new Aston Martin DBS (Project AM310) was the big news.
