Core Shifters EXCLUSIVE!!  This is a custom short throw shifter with a Core Shifters base that contains a readily available Hurst "Billet/Plus 2" component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA).  It includes a Hurst chrome stick and knob, along with a boot grommet, base gasket, and installation instructions.  On all models, the factory leather console boot attaches to the supplied boot support grommet (without modification), for a professional, finished look.  Throw reduction is 30% (most aftermarket shifters are too aggressive - this one is ideal!).

This shifter kit fits the following applications:

  • 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray - all models with 7 speed manual transmission
  • Your choice of black or white knob w/ engraved 7 speed pattern (plain sides)
  • Hurst T-handle also available
  • Similar shifter for use with stock knob also available - email to request
  • Kit also available with the Hurst HardDrive pistol grip stick!  ($80 more - email to request)
  • Similar kits for C5 & C6 Corvette available in my other listings

This shifter uses the stock shifter mounting bolts.  Otherwise, this kit comes with everything else needed for installation (beyond simple tools).

This Core Shifter has many superior features integrated into a unique, exclusive base assembly:

  • CNC-machined billet steel gear selector w/ forged upper section and black e-coat finish
  • Spherical pivot mechanism with a centralized spring-loaded, self-lubricating low friction polymer interface
  • Lack of bias springs minimizes effort to enter reverse and 5-6 gate
  • Reduced leverage enhances OE detent force for improved 2-3 shift
  • CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum housing sized for a tight fit around factory closeout boot
  • Phosphate-coated laser-cut steel base-plate
  • Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
  • Simple, effective, and durable
  • High quality and outstanding value!

STICK INFO:  Hurst # 538-7201, chrome plated steel, 6" tall, bends 1/2" rearward.  3/8"-16 knob threads.  All Hurst sticks have 3/8" holes spaced apart 7/8" on center.  Stick is also sold alone in my other listings (not compatible any other Corvette shifter).

KNOB INFO:  High quality billiard ball-type knob produced by Hurst's supplier, with true engraved 7 speed pattern on top and plain sides.  1 7/8" diameter with 3/8"-16 threaded brass insert, Hurst jam nut is included.

Also available with black knob, specify with payment.

Caterham AeroSeven concept (2013) first official pictures

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

This is Caterham’s vision for the future of its car range: the AeroSeven concept. Dragging the Seven template into the 21st Century, the two-seater AeroSeven reportedly uses F1 knowhow in its design, and will launch to 62mph in less than four seconds. It’ll go on sale in production form in late 2014, two years before the Alpine-Caterham sports car deal comes to fruition.

MG3 Trophy Championship Concept previews MG Hot Hatch

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

MG3 Trophy Championship Concept (pictured) previews a future MG Hot Hatch The revival of MG so far has been about delivering rather prosaic Chinese cars given a gloss of credibility with and MG badge. But if MG are to succeed they really need to use some of the heritage of MG to grab buyers attention. That probably means a credible hot hatch rather than a traditional MG Roadster, so the arrival of the MG3 Trophy Championship Concept at MG’s 90th birthday celebrations at the weekend is perhaps a good pointer of the sort of direction we could see from MG in the coming years.
