Core Shifters EXCLUSIVE!!  Short throw shifter equivalent to discontinued Hurst Billet Plus shifter 391-5031.  This is a custom Core Shifters base that contains a readily available Hurst Billet Plus component set (supplied by Hurst) inside a custom housing (not produced by Hurst, but 100% made in USA).  It functions exactly the same as any regular Hurst Billet Plus shifter, but configured into a kit that Hurst no longer offers.  This mechanism is smoother and more robust than the original Comp Plus design.  It includes a dust boot cover, mounting bolts, and installation instructions.  Throw reduction should be around 40%.  It does not have stops and does not need them - all modern internal rail trans have internal stops.  However if you wish, you can add stops for $20 more; email to request - this must be requested prior to purchase, it cannot be retrofitted.

Brand new Core Shifters 5 speed "short" shifter package complete with Hurst stick # 538-5202 which has 12mm x 1.75 threads to accept the stock knob or aftermarket knobs with stock threads.  I offer Hurst engraved knobs in this thread size in my other listings.

This kit ONLY fits the following applications, only with 5 speed:

  • 1994-2000 MUSTANG (ALL MODELS, 1996-2000 V8 specify T45 w/ payment)
  • 2001-2004 V6 MUSTANG
  • Early 2001 MUSTANG V8 with T45 (will not fit late 2001-04 V8 w/ TR3650, see my other listings)
  • 1983-1991 THUNDERBIRD (except 1989+ TURBO SUPERCOUPE)
  • 1983-1991 MERCURY COUGAR (except 1989+ XR-7)

It does not matter what Mustang model you have (LX, GT, Cobra, Saleen, SVO, etc), all that matters is that it is a 5 speed and fits in the above model years.  If you have a T45 (1996-2001 V8) you must indicate that with payment for proper component kit.

This Core Shifter shares many of the same superior features & components found in Hurst Billet Plus Shifters, integrated into a unique, exclusive base assembly:

  • Forged heat-treated billet steel gear selector
  • Precision-ground stainless steel pivot ring
  • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
  • Glass-reinforced polyamide pivot cup insert with steel wear clips
  • Rubber oil control seal with steel retaining ring
  • 6061-T6 extruded aluminum housing with Spirolox steel support ring
  • Phospate-coated laser-cut steel base-plate and cover
  • Vibration-resistant serrated flange head steel retaining bolts
  • Optional adjustable positive gear stops (extra charge)
  • Rubber dust cover boot
  • Pan-head allen bolts with toothed lockwashers to mount stick
  • Forged billet steel Hurst stick
  • High quality and outstanding value!

Shifter kits also available with chrome sticks, and with console trim for 1983-1993 models.

Mazda Hazumi concept (2014) first official pictures

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 04 March 2014 06:00 This is the new Mazda 2 supermini, unveiled this morning at the 2014 Geneva motor show. Okay, okay, technically it’s the Mazda Hazumi concept, but the Japanese company itself openly admits this dinky little hatchback previews ‘ideas for its next-generation B-car’. Incidentally, Hazumi (no, not the cheese, but Hazumi) is apparently a Japanese word meaning ‘bound’ or ‘spring up’ so Mazda’s picked the name ‘to convey an image of a small but vigorous animal, bursting with energy.’ That’s right, and Mazda is using it to highlight its ‘Kodo’ design language, its SkyActiv fuel-saving technologies, and its MZD Connect infotainment system.
