Up for sale is a Cornell Carr Co. Inc. Electronically Heated Marine Clear View Screen Window. This window is SUPER HEAVY DUTY! It's military grade, what is used for commercial boats (as seen on the TV show "Deadliest Catch"). It's most likely bronze and weighs 60 POUNDS. The diameter of it is 17". Cornell Carr has been making these items since the early 1950's - the first heated window they made was for the US Navy, so you know they are well made.

On this window, the cord has been cut & the wires are disconnected inside the motor housing. It would need to be re-wired in order to test it. It does spin freely & the glass is free of any chips or cracks. The bronze has an aged, weathered patina (I'm unsure of it's age). It's missing 1 stainless steel screw, but a replacement one could easily be obtained.

You could have this item re-wired in order to use it, or it would be a great nautical maritime collectible, for display purposes.

Please use zoom function on all photos to see condition.

Please ask any and all questions. Item is being sold AS IS.

Concept Car of the Week: Buick Wildcat (1985)

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

Before the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas became the capital of obnoxious extravagance, car manufacturers and suppliers saw it as an opportunity to exhibit their latest innovations, giving the public an exciting insight into the future of automobiles. This is when, in 1985, Buick unveiled the totally unexpected Wildcat concept, which broke radically with the brand's stodgy image. Proportionally, the weight is placed forward, with a thin and low tail.

VW Dung Beetle – Yes, it’s a sh*t powered Beetle

Mon, 09 Aug 2010

VW Beetle Sewage Power I know, it’s the silly season for news. There’s not a lot going on – anyone with a brain has disappeared off for August – but we still have a site to run. So the odd, daft story is a help.

Lotus Exige S (2011) at Frankfurt motor show

Tue, 13 Sep 2011

This is the new Lotus Exige S, just unveiled by CEO Dany Bahar at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. And it might not be the sort of Lotus Exige you were expecting: this new S model now runs the supercharged 3.5-litre V6 from the Evora S, meaning it not only boasts 35% more power than before, but it is also 191kg heavier. Lotus Exige S: the spec Lotus’s long-held mantra has been ‘add lightness’, but Bahar’s future plans call for models to rival the 458, the California and the Rapide, essentially bigger cars with bigger engines.
