TOYOTA has chosen my "box beam" aluminum brace for their NEW 2016 Gen 4 Prius models. So. they finally adopted my tried and true enhancement.

CUSTOM white “OVEN BAKED” EPOXY finished Mid Under Chassis Special “Box Beam” Stiffening Brace for the Toyota COROLLA, Toyota MATRIX, Toyota ALTIS or Pontiac VIBE 2003-2008 YEAR models.

BETTER than the $108 brace offered by another eBay vendor at nearly DOUBLE the PRICE.

These mid-chassis braces provide greater stability and better feedback to the driver's road feel. The "squishy" feeling is reduced or virtually eliminated.

The brace is machined from a 6061 T6 age solution hardened aircraft grade aluminum rectangular box beam extrusion. The extruding process eliminates the stress from bending sheet or plate aluminum and makes the piece much more resistant to metal fatigue. This means that the brace will likely outlast the car. There are no welds to break and weaken the tempered aluminum. The brace's design represents my 45 years experience in the aircraft metal fabrication industry. The brace has been phosphoric acid etched, primed with a special high gloss epoxy direct to metal “oven baked” heat tempered white finish that is equal or better than powder coat.

This lightweight and extraordinarily stiff and strong braces weighs less than 12 ounces and is at least 20 times stronger and 10 times stiffer than the 3 ounce thin pressed steel OEM brace shown in the photo below my custom brace.

The inverted tubular exhaust system is an inverted “U” where the rails move in and out that causes flex and changes the separating between the right and left side of the car. MY BRACE is designed at the OPTIMUM STIFFNESS and maintains the EXACT SEPARATION DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CHASSIS RAILS.

My open ended “box beam” is based on the “wing warping” technique originally developed by Orville and Wilbur Wright to allow twisting and preventing ultimate stress risers that could eventually damage the thin chassis rail mounting points.

Installation should take less than 15 minutes. Jacking or lifting the car is NOT needed. The mounting holes are made purposely as small as possible to provide the closest mounting. Toyota and other aftermarket custom makers like Cusco, Tanable, and Ultra Brace uses comparatively large clearance holes for easy mounting. That, however, makes for a less secure and weaker fit. A little filing may be necessary for some individual vehicles due to manufacturing variances.

This sale is for ONE “oven baked” EPOXY finished Toyota 2003-2008 COROLLA-ALTIS-MATRIX-Pontiac VIBE ultra stiff “box beam” mid under chassis brace Nothing else shown in the photos as examples OF THE OEM braces are included. .

The item is guaranteed to be exactly as described. The oven curing of the epoxy finish will cause some distinctive “crinkling” of the finish in some places. THIS IS NOT A DEFECT and is a characteristic of this type of protective finish.

Jaguar Land Rover factory closure

Thu, 24 Sep 2009

Jaguar Land Rover are to close one of their production facilities in the Midlands JLR unions have already brokered a deal to ensure no job losses in the short term, but JLR are committed to rationalising their manufacturing across just two plants in the UK, instead of the existing three. The decision will be made about which plant to close in the next eighteen months. The most likely scenario is that JLR will close Solihull – which currently produces Land Rovers and employs 5000 people – and concentrate Land Rover production at Halewood.

Concept Car of the Week: Citroën Zabrus (1986)

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, the quirky BX proved to be a big success for Citroën. Eager to improve its brand image and to boost its already healthy sales figures, the brand put the popular BX on steroids and entered the World Rally Championship. Unfortunately the beefed-up BX 4TC didn't shine on the rally stage and despite a powerful engine, the road-going version didn't sell well either.
