Wed, 14 Apr 2010Instigated by Harley Earl at General Motors in the late 30s with the quaintly named Buick Y-Job, show cars, or concept cars, were presented to an excited public eager for new things. As the world recovered from a depression and then a war, these vehicles pointed to a better future that many people believed in, including the people who produced them. And, although many of the concept cars of the 50s, with their Jetsons plexiglass roofs and notional nuclear powered engines seem ludicrous now, in their time they weren’t that cynical.
Changan Raeton
Wed, 06 Jun 2012Changan is predominantly active in the small car market, but the mid-sizes Raeton is aimed at entering the official and private vehicle markets, measuring in at a length of 4,920mm, a width of 1,825mm, while the car stands at 1,500mm tall riding on a wheelbase of 2,800mm. The development was based on the automaker's CD1-platform and was completed in its Turin-based European Design Centre, under the direction of Luciano D'Ambrosio and Chen Zheng. As early as the 2009 Shanghai auto show, Changan unveiled its CD101 concept car in attempt to explore the future design of the mid-size sedan.
A New Concours d'Elegance in Detroit

The event formerly known as the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance has moved across metropolitan Detroit and is now called the Concours d'Elegance of America at St. John's , reflecting the show's national significance and the spectrum of collectors who flock to the annual summer summit of vintage sheetmetal.
