Road safety charity Brake and insurance company Direct Line found that 31% of all drivers admit to ‘head-nodding’ at the wheel – meaning they’ve fallen asleep while driving a car for between two and 30 seconds. Fiat dealers likely to get Alfa, Marchionne says

Sergio Marchionne, CEO of the Chrysler Group, said that Alfa Romeo vehicles will likely be sold at Fiat dealerships in the United States. About 200 Fiat franchises will be awarded this fall, mainly to Chrysler Group dealerships in metro markets friendly to small cars. Fiat is preparing to bring Alfa vehicles to the United States starting in late 2012.

Hyundai drops out of shrinking Tokyo auto show

The incredibly shrinking Tokyo auto show just got even smaller. Hyundai Motor Co., the last major foreign automaker which was scheduled to participate in next month's show, has decided to pull out with just weeks to go, organizers say. “Hyundai called last week and orally confirmed their intent to cancel,” said Toyokazu Ishida, who administers the international exhibition for the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.
