Following the recent Tokyo motor show, Honda gave journalists an early chance to test three devices that few would expect a car company to produce.

I will take it to work all week, including Wednesday when I go to Santa Monica to drive a Nissan Leaf electric car. I wonder how they'll take to seeing a competitor in the parking lot. Not far enough to worry about range, though I will look for a charging spot in Santa Monica.

It's a plug-in petrol-electric hybrid car in keeping with Hethel's performance credentials: it'll hit 60mph in 'less than 4sec'. The range of the Evora hybrid testbed is said to be more than 300 miles.
