Correct for Corvettes 1973-Early 1979

Replacement for Corvettes 1968-1972 (6 1/4" Deep)

  • This bin fits into the rear storage area.
  • The inner black flocking is nice with no large bald spots, it is slightly brittle from age.
  • It shows some color fade in a few areas (see pictures).
  • The upper lip shows some splits and is a bit brittle (see pictures).
  • There is some staining on the inside (see pictures).
  • The outside is in good condition with no holes or water damage that will affect its structure.
  • One of the holes in the side appears to have been enlarged (see pictures).
  • These bins can be reflocked.
  • This bin is about 5" deep, it is the service replacement for the early 1968-1972 6-1/4" deep bins.

Last week in Park City, Utah, a group of us were discussing the chutzpah that some manufacturers have in charging hundreds of dollars for outboard mirrors that dip downward when the vehicle's placed in reverse. The consensus was, “Since the electric motors in the mirrors are already there, and the computers know the car's set to back up, it's only a line of code. A very expensive line of code.” The European Union seems to be thinking along the same lines.

Dimitri Vicedomini has joined Brilliance Automotive as its Design Director, following his previous position as Chief Designer at Pininfarina. Vicedomini, who has over 15 years of experience within the automotive design industry, has previously worked with Brilliance, leading the Pininfarina design team behind models including the Splendor and Splendor Wagon, the H530, and Brilliance's Zhonghua Concept. Within his long history at the renowned Italian design house he was involved in projects including the Ferrari FF, the Enzo and the new F12 Berlinetta as well as the Maserati Gran Turismo and other models.

Toyota is to display a family-oriented concept vehicle at the 2012 Tokyo Toy Show in order to promote cars to a new generation of potential drivers. The Camatte project is based around a customizable body with interchangeable body panels hung from a simple body structure and components that allows people to reengage with the inner workings of the motor car. It will be displayed in two configurations – Camatte Sora – the turquoise car – Camatte Daichi – the military-looking beige machine.
