McLaren P1 lapping the Nurburgring in UNDER 7 minutes in stunning new video
Thu, 05 Dec 2013The McLaren P1 laps the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes Ever since Ron Dennis claimed the McLaren P1 would be able to lap the Nurburgring in under seven minutes, we’ve been waiting for McLaren to prove it. It seems their initial attempts failed to get below the magic 7 minute barrier – unlike the Porsche 918 Spyder which lapped the Nurburgring in 6m 57s – but last month we reported that the P1 seemed to have achieved its goal by going 10 seconds faster than the Porsche in an almost unbelievable 6 minutes 47 seconds. Unfortunately, we still don’t know officially just how quickly the P1 got round the Nurburgring, but we do now know that it was under 7 minutes thanks to a new video just released by McLaren.
Porsche Panamera Turbo Powerkit adds 40hp
Tue, 17 Aug 2010Porsche Panamera with the new Sport Design Pack The Porsche Panamera has the same problem all Porsches have – it’s easy to admire but quite hard to love. And it goes further for the Panamera because it has to suffer the same sniping about its looks as its SUV sibling, the Porsche Cayenne. But Porsche aren’t losing sleep over the constant jibes about the ugly ducklings in their range.
McLaren F1 GTR Longtail sells at Gooding & Co for $5.28 million
Mon, 20 Jan 2014McLaren F1 GTR Longtail (pictured) sells at Gooding & Co for $5.28 million Even with the arrival of the new McLaren P1, the ultimate supercar is still the McLaren F1. The McLaren F1 is one of rarest of the more modern supercars, and McLaren produced just 64 road going F1s in addition to a number of racing versions, with the F1 GTR Longtail the last, and rarest, of the breed. So the arrival of a McLaren F1 GTR Longtail on the auction block at Gooding & Co’s sale in Scottsdale raised expectations of a possible record-breaking price for the GTR Longtail, with pre-sale estimates putting the price between $5 and $7 million.
