This listing is for a used Corvette 4-speed Borg Warner transmission which was rebuilt a few years ago, but has never been used.  I removed it from a 1959 Corvette under restoration.  My understanding (although I am not an expert) is that this transmission came from a 1963 Corvette (main case #M8 62 - December 8, 1962), but that this transmission model was used in multiple Corvette and GM model years.  The original T10-7D tail housing has been replaced (11/2/66 or 11/2/68 date).

Child car smoking ban moves closer

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

A BAN ON SMOKING in cars with children present has moved a step closer after peers inflicted a defeat on the Government in the House of Lords. Campaigners welcomed the result of the Lords vote, claiming a ban would protect half-a-million children who were exposed to second-hand smoke in cars every week. Although the successful Labour amendment to the Children and Families Bill does not directly ban smoking in cars with children in them, it backs the principle of making it an offence.

Concept Car of the Week: Italdesign Machimoto (1986)

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

The Machimoto might look and sound like a Japanese concept, but it was developed in Europe in the Turin-based Italdesign studio, and was based on a Volkswagen Golf GTI platform. The name actually derives from MACHIna (car in Italian) and MOTOciclo (motorcycle) as the perfect hybrid between the worlds of two- and four-wheelers. Unveiled on its home turf at the Turin motor show in 1986, it landed like a UFO, shocking both the public and the press.
