This "The Corvette Plastic Body" was written by E.J. Premo for the January 11-15 1954 Society Automotive Engineers meeting. The SAE meeting was at the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel in Detroit Mich. The SAE Preprinted this book for the meeting. Contains 33 pages and 111 black and white photos. The first book to show the wood buck Corvette. Many rare and unpublished photos. Complete details of the 1954 Corvette. Story of how the body was made with fiberglass showing the men making the body. Section on the hand lay process. Goes into the assy line and the body assembly. Even has a section on body repair. Great reading and great photos. This book was reprinted over 30 years ago with permission from SAE it is old brand new. $5.00 shipping media rate with insurance. With the caveat that they were all delivered by September. Well, September came and went and he still hadn’t got his cars, but no one else had either.

Toyota ordered by Japan to address Prius brake complaints

Toyota Motor Corp., already grappling with recalls totaling 8.1 million vehicles on five continents, has been ordered by Japan's Ministry of Transportation to investigate a rash of consumer complaints about braking problems in its popular third-generation Prius hybrid vehicle. The Japanese carmaker has received several complaints about braking in the Prius in both Japan and North America since the end of last year, Toyota spokeswoman Ririko Takeuchi said. She did not say when the directive was issued or how Toyota would respond.

Tata is struggling financially with its recently acquired Jaguar / Land Rover set-up, but then virtually every car maker has major problems at the moment. And yes, it has just laid off 450 staff, although this seems to be more about management rationalisation than shedding pure manufacturing jobs.
