Lexus teases new RC-F rival to BMW M4
Tue, 10 Dec 2013Lexus has released the first tease of a new F-branded model – and it looks like the car in question is a hot version of last month’s new RC Coupe. The new RC-F will be officially revealed at the Detroit Motor Show next month, with the firm promising “performance synonymous with Lexus’s heritage of F-designated performance models”. Trevor’s Back! TVR sold to new British owner
Fri, 07 Jun 2013TVR sold to a new British owner, Les Edgar TVR – once the pride of Blackpool – effectively disappeared from the car scene in 2006 when its Russian owner, Nikolai Smolensky, shuttered up TVR just two years after he bought it from Peter Wheeler and last yeare announced there would never be another TVR. But it now seems TVR has been sold to a British businessman, Les Edgar, who has bought the rights to the TVR name and the right to manufacture parts for existing cars. So far, the only evidence of a return is a new splash page on the TVR website (pictured above) which tells us that TVR are ‘Roaring Back’.
Ford Fiesta sells 4 million in UK & Fiesta history in pictures
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The 4 millionth Ford Fiesta sold in the UK (pictured) has arrived with it owner It’s 37 years since Ford launched the first Fiesta, and in that time it’s been the best-selling small car for 27 of those 37 years and the best-selling car in the UK overall since 2009. In that time Ford has managed to sell 4 million Fiestas in the UK, with the four millionth Fiesta – a Fiesta Zetec in Candy Blue with the excellent 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine – presented to its owner, Michelle Wardale, by her local Ford dealers in the North East today. Ford Fiesta production started in the days when Dagenham was a big builder of Ford cars, and the first 3 million Fiestas (bound not just for the UK) rolling out of Dagenham between 1976 and 2002.
