Here's a pair (RH and LH) of used original, 10-inch, Trico windshield wiper arms as installed on '56-62 Corvette. What makes these interesting is one is an early part while the other is a later part...

The chrome on the drive hubs is in VERY GOOD condition without chips or flaking however a little buffing is needed to make them look factory fresh!

I said the pair consisted of an early and a late unit, so let's talk about that.  In the third picture, I show the bottom side of the drive hubs (sometimes used original arms have mouting spline damage) and you can also see the spring cover detail.  Note the upper arm (that's the cars RH side), has no stamped emboss identifying it as a Trico product.

But, the lower arm (LH side) bears the Trico embossed information.  And, the lower or LH arm has an embossed 'X' character on its rod just above the lower arm attaching point.

Moving to the last picture, you can see the upper portion of the back of the SS rod bears the Trico patent and identifying emboss on the upper (RH) arm, while the mating arm is smooth and unembossed.  My guess is there was a running change at Trico in terms of where the identifying emboss was place (on the rod vs. the spring cover) and what we have here is on arm made one way with the second having the opposite construction...

New Mercedes A Class: Production increased to meet demand

Tue, 23 Oct 2012

With over 70,000 orders already in the pipeline for the new Mercedes A Class, Mercedes are increasing production to meet demand. The increase in production at Mercedes plant in Rastatt, Germany, means adding a third shift to effectively increase production by almost 50 per cent and make a dent in the 70k plus orders Mercedes already has for the new A Class. That’s in stark contrast to the recent news that Mercedes is having to slash production of the S Class as sales falter, partly due to a new S Class in the pipeline for 2013 but also because buyers are falling in love with more compact offerings.

BMW AG's new front-wheel drive family of cars will be sold in the United States but the question is whether the U.S. market is ready to accept vehicles smaller than the 1-series coupe, said Ian Robertson, BMW AG board member for sales and marketing. The new class is being called UKL--an abbreviation for lower compact class cars sold in Germany.
