Crane Cams Fireball HI-4TC Model 8-3160 performance electronic ignition intended for 1999 and 2000 Harley Davidson Softail with Twin Cam 88 carburated engines. Ignition mounts under the seat in place of original equiment (OE) module and offers easy plug-in installation without requiring removal or modification of any sensors. I will include a printed installation guide icluding performance tables with the purchase.

Features include:

  • Switch selectable multi-spark mode
  • Digitally set rev limiter
  • Adjustable initial timing
  • Adjustable advance slope
  • Rear cylinder timing offset
  • Data link to a laptop PC RS232 serial port

This is a fully functional used electronic Fireball HI-4TC ignition that I removed from a 2001 softail. This is a great way to add a little performance to your Harley without spending top dollar for a comparable  models that cost over $250. All the basic controls are easily adjusted with a small screwdriver and advance features require using the data link. It should be noted that if used with a tachometer, the manufacturer said use the brown output wire and not the pink wire listed in the instructions.

New Ford Kuga (2012) to debut at Los Angeles Motor Show

Wed, 05 Oct 2011

2012 Ford Kuga / Escape to debut at Los Angeles 2011 - based on the Vertrek Concept (above) Yes, strictly speaking the debut of the new Ford Kuga at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November is actually for the 2013 Ford Escape. But in the new ‘One World’ of Ford the new Escape – based on the Ford Vertrek Concept from this year’s Detroit Motor Show – will, with just a few changes, become Europe’s new Ford Kuga. What makes it even more certain that the Escape is much the same as the Kuga will be is news on the engines.

Dacia Logan Estate: Price from £6,995

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The Dacia Logan MCV (Estate) becomes the UK’s cheapest estate car with prices from £6,995 – for the Logan MCV 1.2 Access trim – rising to £10,795. That’s £1,000 less than we’d expected when the Logan estate was revealed at Geneva last month, and cheap enough to make it the cheapest estate car on sale in the UK. True, the entry-level Logan estate in Access trim with the 1.2 litre 74bhp petrol engine, 15″ steel wheels and not a lot of toys, isn’t exactly specced up, but if you need a proper estate car – and you want it new – the Logan MCV (the MCV bit means ‘Maximum Capacity Vehicle) is a great deal.

New Mercedes A Class recalled for faulty air bag

Wed, 29 May 2013

The new Mercedes A Class is being recalled for an Airbag fault The new Mercedes A Class is a cracking little car, and offers much more style, performance and joy than the boxy little original A Class. On the market for less than a year, the new A Class has been a big success story for Mercedes-Benz with 100,000 orders on its books by the end of 2012 as buyers fell for the appeal of MB’s first really credible compact car. And that appeal was wide, with everything from frugal diesels to the range-topping A45 AMG, which offers the promise of not just stunning performance from its 335bhp, but decent economy and practicality when you’re not in the mood to blat.
