Simply the best reduction pulley you can by for the first generation MINI Cooper S (R53)
This listing is for just the CravenSpeed 15% Supercharger Reduction Pulley with hub adapter and four bolts

More GO:
  • Smaller SC pulley spins faster
  • Faster spin increases boost
  • More Boost increases acceleration
  • Easy Installation
Safe for Extended Use
CravenSpeed's supercharger pulleys are machined to a specific reduction of the original equipment on your MINI's supercharger. It is widely accepted that these sizes are safe amount of reduction on this particular supercharger. Smooth, form fitting teeth on your pulley take longer to machine but are worth the extra time. CravenSpeed pulleys will neither eat nor throw your belt. You can be confident your belt will last long, and run quietly. We do recommend using a slightly smaller belt with these reduction pulleys.

15 or 17?
If both sizes are safe for the supercharger which one should you choose? The supercharger is only creating boost under acceleration, on a normal or even a spirited drive this is only occasional. However, at the track or an autocross event acceleration is sustained and frequent. If you use your MINI for these types of events it is better to use the 15% reduction. This is because the 17% pulley causes the supercharger to heat more rapidly and the warm air begins to negate the positive effects of the extra PSI earlier in the band.

Will it work on my car?
This pulley will work on all supercharged MINI models except the JCW which already has a similarly reduced size pulley on the supercharger.  If you plan do on wrenching on your own, make sure you have a puller designed to remove the MINI's press-fit OEM pulley. The CravenSpeed Quick Puller allows you to remove the OEM pulley without removing the tensioner. (Sold separately, see our other listings.)

Replace your belt when you upgrade your pulley and every 25,000 miles thereafter. Choose a shorter belt for use with reduction pulley (sold separately).  Choose the Gates
K060539 or K060539HD for the 17% pulley.  For an event tighter wrap, try the Gates K060535.

Need a pulley puller tool?
See our other listings for the CravenSpeed Pulley Puller tool. With this tool, you will be able to remove the stock press fit pulley safely, without removing the tensioner. Time is money and this puller will save you both. For use in removing stock supercharger pulley. The puller body is made of heat treated carbon steel and has a tooth profile to match the OEM pulley exactly. The center screw is grade 8 quality. Having a pulley party? Our puller will not bend during normal use, and will last for many pulls.

But that’s no time soon, so the new models are a further re-hash of the range with the Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition making a début in both coupé and Volante guises. Apart from saving money on developing a new Aston Martin platform, AML are obviously saving money on employing anyone to come up with new names for their Limited Edition models.

Volvo consign normal car batteries to the history book

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

Volvo consign normal car batteries to the history book by using body panels for storage As our cars become more and more reliant on power from batteries – either to run the multitude of technology or top provide power for electric motors – the cost and size of the batteries needed continues to grow. But Volvo have been working an an alternative for the last 3.5 years which can potentially do away with the battery and instead store power in body panels. Volvo has built an experimental S80 which has body panels made of carbon fibre and polymer resins and structural super capacitors.

Lexus LF-CC

Mon, 17 Sep 2012

Lexus is set to debut the LF-CC mid-size coupe concept at next week's Paris motor show that will give us a glimpse of the design and technology ideas that will influence the brand's future models. The LF-CC shares a lot of the same design cues featured on the LF-LC 2+2 sports coupe concept seen in Detroit in January, not least the new spindle-shaped grille that are found on all new Lexus models. It is set in a deep, metal-finish surround and is framed by the hood lip, deep lower spoiler and the projecting front wing tips – this is designed to give it a 3D look.
