Surtees To Be Celebrated At Autosport International Show

HE MAY have missed out on a knighthood but John Surtees’ life in motorsport will be celebrated at the forthcoming Autosport International show. Marking the start of 50th anniversary celebrations of the British legend’s 1964 Formula One World Championship win, his title-winning Ferrari 158 leads a special display at the show, which runs from 9th to 12th of January at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. After taking seven motorcycle Road Racing World Championships, Surtees became the first man to win world championships on both two and four wheels when he secured the 1964 title with Ferrari.

And Alfa Romeo's saga of restructuring, postponing and rejiggering continues, swathed in announcements, reports, rumor and innuendo. A few months ago, the product plan at the Italian automaker centered around the existing MiTo and Giulietta (cousins of the 500 and Dart, respectively), the almost-at-hand 4C, the upcoming Giulia sedan and the Duetto, a roadster based on the next Miata. Mercedes GLA Concept leaks ahead of Shanghai Motor Show debut

But ahead of a debut of the production ready GLA at Frankfurt, Mercedes are taking a GLA Concept – which is pretty much what the production version will be – to the Shanghai Motor Show this month. But it’s arrived early. Thanks to a German website publishing the pictures ahead of time (which they’ve subsequently removed) we get our first look at Mercedes latest addition to the A Class family – and it does look quite convincing.
