Mercedes confirms electric AMG SLS
Fri, 17 Jul 2009By Richard Webber First Official Pictures 17 July 2009 09:46 Mercedes’ new AMG SLS – the gullwinged GT supercar due to appear at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show – is going electric as engineers develop an emissions-free battery powered SLS as an alternative to the 563bhp V8. The eco SLS will have an electric motor powering each wheel, producing a total of 526bhp. Needless to say, for now it remains an engineering prototype – but a spokeswoman told CAR that Mercedes was intent on putting it into production.
State of Ferrari: Supercar maker evolves, strives for exclusivity in consumer age
Wed, 08 May 2013Ferrari means a great deal to a great many, but there are some things it is not--and will never be, says chairman Luca di Montezemolo. That means no full electric cars, four-doors and even fewer Ferraris. All of this is meant to preserve equity in the famous Ferrari brand, believed to be one of the most valuable in the world in any segment of consumer products.
Bentley SUV will be the Bentley Falcon
Fri, 23 Nov 2012It looks like Bentley has come up with a name for its SUV – Bentley Falcon - and, as expected, it will get a complete redesign before it arrives. But it now seems that VW has bitten the bullet on the Bentley SUV and signed it off for production, when it will apparently come complete with a new Bentley name – Bentley Falcon. The news of a name for Bentley’s luxury off-roader comes from Georg Kacher writing in Automobile Magazine and, although it perhaps doesn’t resonate particularly in the UK, it will probably have more impact on the target market for the SUV – the Middle East – where the Falcon is a big deal.
