SA DESIGN CARTECH: Grumpy's Toys: The Authorized History of Grumpy Jenkins' Cars
Few men have impacted the sport of drag racing like Bill Grumpy Jenkins. His storied history at the drag strip began in the late 1950s, and continues today. Throughout his career, both innovation and success have followed him closely, and this book documents the long and colorful history of the competition cars that proudly bear the name Grumpy's Toy. Grumpy's Toys: The Legendary Cars of Bill Grumpy Jenkins stands as a full and complete history of Jenkins' career to date as told through his cars, and has been heartily authorized by the man himself (Jenkins wrote the book's foreword.) Author Doug Boyce has been following Jenkins throughout his racing career, and amassed an impressive collection of vintage photography which is shared on the pages. Through his own knowledge, extensive research, and by working with Grumpy himself, Grumpy's Toys offers readers an unparalleled look behind the man and his machines. This book boasts the largest collection of Jenkins-centered vintage photography ever assembled. Input from Grumpy punctuates the tales behind the now-legendary cars, and author Boyce's fan-friendly writing style entertains. Many myths about both Jenkins and his formidable racing cars have grown over the decades, and this book separates the fact from the fiction. This book is essential for the true drag racing fan. Fiat 500 Abarth show debut
Thu, 06 Mar 2008By Jonny Smith Motor Shows 06 March 2008 16:05 What’s new on Fiat's Geneva Motor Show stand? Amongst the kinky white boots and retro chandeliers Fiat rolled out their eco-loving theme across the whole range with three uncloakings: the fresh Fiorino, 500 Aria concept and Panda Aria prototype. The 500 Aria showcased a Euro 5 friendly 98g/km diesel 1.3 16v Multijet engine with a Stop&Start system (better for emissions, better for premature starter motor wear) and predominantly recycled interior materials.
Audi TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI launches as entry-level TT
Thu, 13 Oct 2011The new entry-level Audi TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI We wonder if Audi is starting to feel a bit of pain from Peugeot’s RCZ? If it is, that would explain the decision to introduce a new entry-level Audi TT starting at just £24,070 – the Audi TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI. The TT Coupe now gets the option of the entry-level engine already found in the TT Roadster, which means that once again you can get a TT Coupe for less than the entry-level TT Roadster.
Audi SQ5 Exclusive – for when an SQ5 just isn’t enough
Fri, 14 Sep 2012Audi are debuting a limited edition of their new SQ5 – the SQ5 Exclusive – at Paris 2012 before a limited production run of 50 cars. The new Audi SQ5 – a diesel RS Q5 in all but name – bowed in at Le Mans in June featuring the 3.0 litre twin turbo diesel V6 with 479lb/ft of torque, 309bhp and a very un-SUV 0-62mph of 5.1 seconds. As the range-topping Q5 you would think that would be enough for Audi, but it seems they think there’s a market for an even more exclusive Audi SQ5 so they’re producing a limited edition model that’ll cost an extra £30k – the Audi SQ5 Exclusive.
