Mercedes GLA – the new A Class SUV/Crossover – caught on video

The small Mercedes SUV / Crossover based on the new A Class – the Mercedes GLA – has been caught on video out testing. Mercedes already has a hit on its hands with the new A Class (it’s sold 100,000 already) but there are more variants of the new A Class to come including the new CLA – the baby CLS – and the car we have here – the Mercedes GLA SUV / Crossover. Based on the same platform as the new A Class, the GLA is a new Mercedes niche aimed at the growing compact SUV market, just like the new Volvo V40 Cross Country.

Teen-created PSAs combat distracted driving

Two widely held assumptions about 21st-century American teenagers is that they're too busy with their smartphones to have any interest in cars and that any who manage to find their way behind the wheel are too distracted to drive safely anyway. These generalizations are broad, unfair and perhaps even counterproductive -- yet they're reinforced every time distracted driving leads to a preventable tragedy. Ten days and counting, China traffic jam extends 60 miles

Tuesday marked the 10th day of a traffic jam extending more than 60 miles on China's Beijing-Tibet Expressway. The congestion is a result of road construction that is expected to continue until mid-September, the Associated Press reported. At one point, vehicles were moving little more than a half-mile a day.
