Cobra Venom V8 concept
Tue, 01 Jul 2008Created by UK-based designer Jamie Martin, the Cobra Venom V8 concept is heralded as the true spiritual successor to the classic AC/Shelby Cobra. It celebrates the great Anglo-American partnership that produced one of the most iconic racing cars of the last century. Built atop a lightweight extruded aluminium chassis, the Cobra Venom V8 features carbon-fiber body panels and an F1-style alloy 'protective cocoon'.
Armored Škoda Superb from SVOS has a few tricks up its sleeve
Mon, 29 Jul 2013We've all read about armored BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars, and a few of us can even spot them in traffic, but there are plenty of armored options for slightly less flash transportation. Large German sedans make great platforms for armoring, and are one of the most popular choices in countries where there is a need for that sort of thing, but they're far from being the only sedans that can offer security-minded customers the relative peace of mind that comes with ownership of such a car. Besides, if you need to travel discreetly, a Mercedes-Benz S-class isn't always the best option -- which is why armoring companies will gladly modify less-obvious cars like the new Škoda Superb.
Skoda Fabia vRS to be dropped due to poor sales. Is that a good idea?
Fri, 13 Sep 2013The Skoda Fabia vRS (pictured) is being axed The current version of the Skoda Fabia vRS has been with us since the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, and it’s a cracking little car. It’s the Skoda version of the VW Polo GTI and comes with the same 1.4 litre TSI supercharged with a healthy 178bhp, 7-speed DSG gearbox and performance and economy that satisfies – 0-62mph in 7.1 seconds and 44mpg. But it seems buyers aren’t queueing round the block to drive off in Skoda’s hot little Fabia so it’s going to be dropped.
