Custom Composite Q-Jet Spacer Duce 190

Up for auction this week is Custom Composite Q-Jet Spacer. I was made and used back in the 80's by a old super stock racer. If you are still running a Q-Jet carburetor this is the hot set up for the street or track it's on 11/16 thick. It is large enough to insulate the heat from the manifold to the carburetor but small enough to go undetected. It looks like a thick gasket if you paint it with you manifold it will look like the intake. You can see from the paint still on the spacer it was used on an Oldsmobile it was said he did a lot of stop light street racing.

Amelia Island concours celebrates birthday of fake sports car--46 years early

Wed, 19 Oct 2011

The fictional Italian grand marque 1958 Pignatelli sports car has joined the lineup for the 2012 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. The 17th-annual event will celebrate the cartoon vehicle's 100th anniversary, 46 years early, in March. "Because all but two people involved with the Amelia Island concours will be dead by 2058, we don't want to wait," concours chairman Bill Warner said.

New smart fortwo electric drive enters production

Tue, 12 Jun 2012

Mercedes has announced that the third generation 2012 smart fortwo electric drive has gone in to production. Mercedes may, very sensibly, be pursuing hydrogen fuel cells as the real future of motoring but they still have an eye on electric cars as urban runarounds. That urban EV takes shape as the Smart EV, and the third generation smart fortwo ED (electric drive) debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March and has now gone in to production.

Nissan to open new Global Headquarters Gallery

Thu, 06 Aug 2009

Nissan, which opened its new global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, last weekend (coinciding with the unveiling of the automaker's new electrically-propelled Leaf), will open a new gallery dedicated to its products on August 8th. Just as German automakers BMW and Porsche have shrines dedicated to their respective brands, Nissan's new gallery will feature exhibits of its current products, classic models and cars from its racing heritage. The new gallery - which boasts an area four times larger than the previous Nissan gallery in the company's former headquarters in Higashi Ginza - occupies 4000m2 of space on the first floor of the new building.
