This custom fender is silver with a light blue pinstripe.   It came off my 1988 BMW R100RT .   It was added to the bike by a the gent that previously owned the machine.  I am also listing a nice Russell day long seat here on EBAY, that was also removed from this bike.  the fender may fit other R series bikes, since I believe the mounting holes and spacing are  the same, but i would confirm this before purchasing.  I have returned the bike to stock, so have no further need for this fender.   I know someone will get some joy, from the custom look as the previous owner did.   It does give a nice retro look to the bike for someone who is after that effect.   The reserve is low, so you just may get a real nice add for your bike at a very reasonable price!

BMW to supply engines to Saab, reports say

Mon, 27 Sep 2010

Saab and BMW AG have agreed on a deal that allows the Swedish carmaker to use engines made by BMW, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter. Saab will initially purchase BMW engines for the 9-3 model that is scheduled for release in late 2012, said the person, who asked not to be identified before a contract is signed. The carmakers plan to sign and announce the pact in Trollhattan, Sweden, on Wednesday, the person said.

BMW Z4 sDrive 35is (2009) at Detroit motor show 2010

Mon, 14 Dec 2009

These are the first official pictures of the new high-performance BMW Z4 sDrive 35is, unveiled today at the Detroit motor show. A bit of a mouthful (that's BMW's new nomenclature for you), but it's essentially the fastest, hardest Z4 to date since the recently departed M roadster curled over and died. The Z4 sDrive 35is uses Munich's existing 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six, tweaked to produce 335bhp and 332lb ft of the twisty stuff all the way from 1400-4500rpm. That's one flat torque curve, and a 29bhp jump over the regular sDrive35i.

Insurance group lists its Top Safety Picks

Wed, 22 Dec 2010

After increasing its standards for 2011 models, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says that 66 vehicles--more than double the 2010 total--rate as best in the industry at protecting passengers from front, side, rollover and rear crashes. Only 27 vehicles qualified last year after the group, funded by the insurance industry, required that vehicles pass a roof-strength test to earn a good rating, claiming that stronger roofs would reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury by 50 percent in a rollover accident. The most mentioned carmakers on the 2011 list are Hyundai/Kia and Volkswagen/Audi, both with nine vehicles to get the Top Safety Pick designation.
