Scottsdale auction results: Video wrap-ups recount total sales

Now that the 2012 Scottsdale collector-car auctions in Arizona have come to a close, our friends at Hagerty Insurance have wrapped up all the numbers from the auctions in their latest edition of “Hagerty Classic Car TV.” In this episode, host Rob Sass, author Colin Comer and publisher Dave Kinney explore the 2012 sales figures and take a closer look at some of the more memorable vehicles, including a 1948 Tucker Torpedo and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL alloy Gullwing. The Brabus tuning company takes cars that are already stupid fast and makes them even faster. The German shop tends to focus on Mercedes cars, but its parts can also be found on hopped-up Teslas and the Benz-owned Smart Car. The Brabus 800 Widestar kit for the Mercedes G65 AMG starts with the stock 6.0-liter V12 and massages it --with a sledgehammer -- to put 800 horses to the pavement through all four wheels.

Lexus at Geneva: Lexus CT 200h – U.S. bound

The Lexus CT 200h at Geneva - Lexus tell us it will be sold in the USA Despite moaning about the less than drop-dead-gorgeous looks when Lexus first showed us the CT 200h as the LF-Ch Concept – with a pretty awful gold paint job – the production ready CT 200h does look a bit more appealing. Still definitely not drop-dead-gorgeous - far from it – but credible enough, in a Lexus sort of way. There’s really nothing new to report on the CT 200h itself from Geneva, except that Lexus has announced that the CT200h will be sold in the US.
