Electric Cars not fit for the market say Car Industry bosses
Fri, 26 Oct 2012Motor Industry bosses have said this week that the Electric car market is carnage and that EVs are not fit for primetime sales. We’ve made no secret of our views on electric cars: they’re simply not fit for the market. And now it seems motor industry bosses are finally standing up and saying much the same.
UK buyers plugging into electric cars
Wed, 07 May 2014Renault New figures suggest UK motorists are charged up about electric vehicles (EVs), with a record number of zero-emission cars now on Britain’s roads. Figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) suggest there are more than 10,000 electric cars on the road today, with as many as 1,200 EVs sold in March alone. In the midst of an EV revolution Compare that to the lowly 270 that were sold during the same month in 2013 and it becomes hard to argue that we’re not in the midst of an EV revolution, especially when you combine the figures with the 10,200 hybrid cars sold so far in 2014, up by 45% on last year.
Citroen C-XR concept looks like Citroen’s take on the Peugeot 2008: Beijing Motor Show
Mon, 21 Apr 2014The Citroen C-XR Concept (pictured) debuts in Beijing The Citroen DS 6WR was revealed last week as a new SUV heading for the Beijing Motor Show, but it turns out it’s not the only Citroen SUV making a debut in Beijing. The Citroen C-XR concept – a creation of the joint venture between Citroen and China’s Dongfeng – has also been revealed as a compact SUV / Crossover, and looks like the Citroen take on the Peugeot 2008. With styling that says more SUV than Crossover – added butch bits, wide chunky nose and a statement grill – the C-XR looks production-ready, and although Citroen has done what it can to make the C-XR look like a proper SUV it appears it won’t be getting 4WD.
