Was told these are a CV product. They are a steel tie rod or trailing arm adjusting sleeve used in Nascar and Late Model Stocks. They are 5" long with 3/4 fn right and left hand thread and are tapped for 5/16" std bolt for securing sleeve to tie rod or other 3/4" arms.

Explosion at GM Tech Center; lithium battery is the suspected cause
Wed, 11 Apr 2012According to WWJ CBS Detroit, there was an explosion at the General Motors Tech Center in Warren, Mich., on Wednesday morning. Deputy Fire Chief Gary Wilkinson said the explosion most likely was related to a lithium battery. Wilkinson told Autoweek that a responder notified the HAZMAT team via radio that the explosion involved lithium batteries in the research facility's Alternative Energy Center.
