Mercedes-Benz unveils 'golf cart of the future' design study
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Designed at its Carlsbad studio in California, Mercedes-Benz presented its ‘Vision Golf Cart' to the golfing world during this year's Open Championship in Scotland. Having called upon car fans and followers of the sport to submit their ideas for a future Mercedes buggy, a jury then went about sifting through all the submissions until they found the best entries. Electrically driven and powered by a battery kept continuously charged by solar panels on the roof, the buggy is controlled by a joystick mounted on the center console allowing either passenger to drive.

Mon, 02 Jan 2006Students from the Transportation Design Masters program at Spain's Elisava School of Design presented their work in the 2005 Degree Show entitled 'Real Transportation', held in October at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona. This was the sixth edition of the Transportation Design Masters course. The projects by this year's students aimed to bring creative solutions to real transport issues, while taking into account aspects such as mobility, aerodynamics, environmental impact, ergonomics, legislation, materials, production, security, technology and aesthetic principles.
Ferrari 599XX raises €1.4 million in Ferrari earthquake auction
Wed, 20 Jun 2012The auction by Ferrari to raise funds for victims of the earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region has raised €1.8 million. The Ferrari auction to raise money for victims of the earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region in Italy only kicked off two weeks ago, but has already ended with a total of over €1.8 million raised. The vast majority of the funds raised came from the sale of the Ferrari 599XX which sold to an American buyer for €1.4 million – almost a bargain.
