DAINESE NEW DELMAR JACKET

This item is like new, only worn on a handful of rides, and in PERFECT condition.  If you're a Dainese fan, you know this is pretty much the pinnacle of modern motorcycle jackets. This model is getting hard to find, especially in this size. The excessively long black tag above the size tag was removed prior to what little use this jacket has seen. Size annotated in subtitle. See links below for video and more sizing info. Sold with 14 day money-back guarantee

In addition to the stock photos from Dainese, I've updated the listing with photos of the actual item. I understand this jacket is expensive, and hope the extra photos will assure you of the excellent condition of this jacket.

Overview

Designed with the serious racer and trackday devotee in mind, the New Delmar has it all. Built from D-Skin leather, the Delmar bundles safety with comfort in the shell construction. D-Skin Leather is Dainese's proprietary leather tanning process, and scores off the charts in safety compared to regular cowhide: 60% greater tensile strength (essentially tear resistant) and 80% greater abrasion resistance. The advanced wax and silicon treatment given to the D-Skin also makes it extremely soft and supple. Inserts in S1 stretch fabric can be found at the inner arms for unrestricted movement and also airflow, while the bi-elasticated stretch leather at the backs of the elbows and at the shoulders allows comfort in the tuck position.

For protection from impact, Dainese's proprietary CE rated composite protectors can be found in the shoulder and the elbow/forearm, with a pocket at the back for a G-type back protector from Dainese. In addition, co-injected titanium shoulder sliders protect from abrasion in the event of a get-off-and-slide scenario. The aerodynamic speed hump provides another level of protection in a back slide situation, while the Neck 5 system provides support for the neck. Add all of this together, upgrade to a CE rated back protector, and you're looking at a jacket that offers the maximum amount of protection for spirited street riding, and the most demanding track days.

Let's talk airflow and comfort. The jacket features zip-open air intakes at the chest and side of torso for added ventilation. The big deal here is the 3D bubble mesh liner, which is a three-dimensional mesh fabric that creates tiny pockets of air between the skin and the jacket. In turn, a microclimate is created which maintains the body's optimal temperature; in the heat, it'll keep you cooler, and in the cold it'll keep you warmer. The liner is also sanitized to keep the funk out. Adjustability at the waist and collar allow you to customize the fit of this jacket so it is perfectly snug on the track. Zip this jacket to a pair of track leathers via the 360º connector and you're ready for the track. One of Dainese's most technical garments, the New Delmar is for the serious racer or enthusiast.

  1. excellent jacket with a lovely fit, typically Dainese....
Even took it on a vacation ( + 4000KM) and it will still be perfect at the end of the day after many km's riding. Easy to clean as well, therefore not only a very fancy jacket but quite practical as well.
Only let down by the price, which is rather steep.... I consider myself a lucky guy to have found this jacket second handed.
Still, never owned a jacket like this before, simply splendid.

  2. This is more of a long term review because mine is the 'original' Delmar (Black&White perforated) purchased nearly three years ago.

I've been riding 40 years. Never was maximum protection so comfortable to wear; even in 90+ degree weather. From day one my Delmar fit and felt far superior to any of the other leading leather jackets tried. As our miles together accrued it has become an inseparable friend offering a sense of comfort & protection reminiscent to that felt under my dad's arm as a boy.
So pleased with the jacket; I soon followed with the Dainese “Fly” leather pants, Torque (Out) “air” boots, and Pro “Steel” gloves.

Never mind the price if you're comparing!
The money saved elsewhere will not equal the fit, finish, quality, and satisfaction afforded here.

  3. I have been motorcycling for thirty two years and this is the best jacket I have ever purchased that combines safety, functionality, style. I bought my jacket through the Dainese Store in Costa Mesa, California. The store was excellent and the staff is very professional and helpful in fitting the right equipment to the rider. Corey was very helpful and steered me away from a one piece suit to this combination jacket and pants. Wearing this jacket is like wearing a second skin. The leather is best I have seen of any jackets and suits and I have purchased over the years. Also I received nothing but compliments on the jacket, it sells itself and is well worth the money. I would also recommend their boots and glove as well - best I have worn.

  4. By far the best jacket I ever purchased!!! I have a Dainese Laguna Seca, and that is a wonderful perfect fit jacket best leather, quality and durability. But this Del Mar Jacket can not be beat! the fit, the comfort, the quality the designed, this jacket is a piece of art, every where I go people love and admire this jacket.

This jacket fits your body, is part of your body once you put it on, is conferrable to ride with. Is not like some other jackets that don’t fit right and have you fighting with the jacket as you ride. This jacket is the best !!! Is worth every penny !!!

YOU MUST OWNE ONE TO SEE WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT !

  5. This jacket blows away any expectation of how I thought a jacket should fit. Before I used a FREE Frank Tomas jacket, and it started to fall apart. I tried on every type of leather from A*Stars to Ducati's, but none seem to fit.. that great. Living in SF I went into the D-Store looking for a good replacement, and I found it... At first I was dettered beacuase of the price.. It was about 2x the amount I wanted to spend. Luckly, I waited and they recieved some early year models that they showed buyers.. and they were half off!!! Way more in my price range! This Jacket fits perfectly, It's extremely vented when riding on a hot day, and when it's cold it does an amazing job of keeping the hot air in. (Do keep in mind it lets in a lot of air through the chest, so wear a sweatshirt underneath..

  6. awesome jacket , good quality and protection, like it very much

  7. I bought this jacket ready for the summer having spent a couple of years in pretty poor quality leathers.

I was worried about spending more money than I had planned, its a very expensive jacket, but I haven't been disappointed. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it.

The jacket is top quality all over, from the neck support system to the titanium shoulder inserts. Its nice and cool in the summer (especially with the vents open), warm at night and looks fantastic.
I found that the back of the jacket rode a little high so I also bought the jacket extension, its now perfect.

This jacket is well worth the money. Its the first piece of Dainese gear I've owned, and from now on I won't buy anything else. Superb.

  8. Simply amazing, the Construction of this jacket is top notch, when you put this jacket on you feel completely protected and have complete confidence in it,
the perforation/ air flow is great, I ride in the valley of CA and it gets very hot in the summer I've ridden in this jacket in 114 degree Fahrenheit / 45 Celsius heat and felt very comfortable in it. the neck support is also great and doesn't get in the way when rotating your head to look to the side/behind you. the zippers for the air inlets on the chest and on the side behind the pockets are easy to reach and I have no problem opening/closing them with my gloves. the titanium inserts on the shoulders are a great + for safety and give the jacket a nice look. the inside pocket of the jacket and the outside pockets are spacious and give you enough room to fit your wallet/ mobile. the reflective piping on the side of the arms and Dainese sign on the speed hump are nice especially on night/ foggy rides so others can see your more easily. the stretch fabric on the sleeves/chest/back offer great freedom of movement. the zipper to connect the jacket to the pants is easy to connect and unzip. I low sided in this jacket going 45mph/72kmph and slid on my stomach for 48ft on asphalt and came out unscathed the jacket got scuffed up some but that's all. If you want a jacket that protects you, looks great, and is very comfortable save up the extra money and purchase this jacket. You will Love it

  9. I own dozens of Dainese leather Jackets and this one ranks up there with the best of them. I love the Santa Monicas.

The Tourist and Trophy are unique as most of their Jackets are ...but one thing that remains constant is the craftsmanship, attention to detail, not one stitch ever out of line or hardly ever a lose thread end to be found .

The quality of the materials is second to none that I have found and w, as many Jackets as I have they will most likely out live me.

This new DelMar in Blk. and Wht. is refined even more than the original DelMar . All one needs to do is pick it up to feel the weight of the D-Skin soft leather w, the space age 3D- Bubble liner for 3 season climate control. Zippered vents allow air to pass through the Jacket and out 2 zippered exhaust vents in the rear sides along w, a perfed upper chest and along the sides and 2 areas on the back of the Jacket insure plenty of air flow when needed.

The rolled leather in the sides and Elbows assure maximum free movement for the ultimate comfort w, a 2 snap collar strap and leather side straps will make adjusting for that perfect fit ever so easy.

Sporty features include an aerodynamic speed hump and zip cuffs w, leather tabs.

Safety features include the composite Shoulder and Elbow protection along w, thermoformed Titanium inserts in the Shoulders for added protection and for night time riding safety , reflective piping , lettering and logos.

The jacket also incorporates the " neck " supporting system which can be removed easily if needed.

The new DelMar is one awesome Jacket that will make your ride that much more enjoyable.

    Dainese....simply the best.

  10. This is by far , the best jacket I've ever imagine. Everything is just right. I'm very impressed by the details, fit, quality, feel, and beauty of this jacket. I've been looking for a jacket for about 2 years, and after buying and trying several different , including other Dainese, found this new Del Mar. , at the right time. I got the black and white perforated. Now I'm just going to start looking for another non perforated in a different color.
