Q: When is a clock not just a clock?
A:
When it is a Dakota Digital VLK Clock. The new Dakota Digital VLK clock is like a Swiss Army knife minus the spoon. When paired with the VHX Analog series instrumentation you will be able to display: Clock, Speed, RPM's, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Fuel Level and Voltage just by connecting a single cable to your VHX Control Box.

If that’s not enough to impress your buddies you can also utilize the new BIM Expansion Modules to display Gear Position, CHT, EGT, Vac/ Boost, Differential Temp, Trans Temp, Fuel Pressure, Nitrous Pressure, Compass, Ambient Air Temp, Intake Temp and Air Ride Pressure.*

*BIM modules and senders are required for the CHT/EGT, Vac/Boost, Diff Temp, Trans Temp, Fuel Pressure, Nitrous Pressure, Compass, Ambient Air Temp, Intake Temp and Air Ride Pressure readings. As a BIM Expansion module and corresponding sensor are added, these displays will also be available for viewing on the main VHX Instrument System and/ or VLK Clock.

**The VLK-49F must be used with a VHX Instrument System. The VLK clock is not compatible with VFD digital gauge clusters and will not operate as a standalone gauge.

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- Have you ever seen two motorcycles going wheel-to-wheel at 200 mph in the rain?

2013 Ford Mondeo: Paris 2012

Sat, 29 Sep 2012

Ford has given the new Mondeo its first public outing at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and it looks a good effort. But the new 2013 Ford Mondeo no longer has the advantage of being a default buy for families, so Ford are working hard to make the Mondeo stand out from the mainstream offerings in the C/D segment by making it appear to more ‘Premium’ than just a mere Ford. That means a new nose – a nose that looks like it belongs on an Aston Martin – and a clever range of technology and engines that actually offer more – and for less – than most of the premium car makers can manage.

Birth of an Icon

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

The first thing you notice when you step into Icon's sprawling, 120,000-square-foot shop in Chatsworth, Calif. -- past the fenced-in yard of Broncos of every size and Land Cruisers of every generation, past the 1952 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon with the DeSoto front end and a massaged patina of greens, browns, and ochres resembling a Cezanne painting -- is the smell. It smells old in here.
