The Equualizer: We drive the 2011 Hyundai Equus luxury sedan

Thu, 06 Aug 2009

Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik is by all indications a brilliant car executive. His company is on a ramp-straight rise up through the car market in the United States, and he is poised to shepherd it into luxury-sedan territory next year with the impressively equipped Equus four-door we were driving. Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake on the way

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

Mercedes’ design boss Gordon Wagener has revealed to WhatCar that they are planning to go exactly the same route with the CLA as they did with the CLS, and create a coupe estate. The CLS Shooting Brake (pictured below) has been very well received, and with much of the world downsizing its cars a CLA Estate is a very sensible way to go, offering all the good design elements of the CLA – which already looks like a CLS on a boil wash – in a car that has more practicality. Wagener gave no idea of time scale for the CLA Shooting Brake, but with the first CLAs expected to hit customers in June it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a concept CLA Shooting Brake arrive by the time of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September before going on sale in 2014.

New Images: Mercedes Unimog concept

Wed, 15 Jun 2011

Mercedes-Benz's Special Trucks unit (MBS) recently revealed a design study celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Unimog at the Daimler plant in Wörth, Germany. Called simply '60 Years Unimog', the concept is said to inform the future form language of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle design. Developed jointly by the MBS development team, the Daimler commercial vehicle designers in Sindelfingen and a model designing partner, the Unimog concept was inspired by the poison dart frog, a natie of Central and South America.
