*** This block is a new second, it has a little porosity in the casting around the starter mounting area and the oil filter shield area. The porosity is purely cosmetic. ***

The Big M block gives you the versatility to build a wide variety of engine combinations. A true priority main oiling system oils the main bearings before the lifters for extra reliability.

Features:

  • 10.200" deck height.
  • 4.250" bore size with siamesed extra thick cylinder walls to resist cracking and improve ring seal (minimum .300" thick with 4.625" bore).
  • Uses +.300" tall Gen VI style lifters. Modification for Gen IV style available.
  • Scalloped outer water jacket walls improve coolant flow around the cylinder barrels to equalize temperatures.
  • 4 bolt billet steel main caps have splayed outer bolts for extra strength.
  • True priority main oil system lubricates the main bearings before the lifters. Our stepped main oil gallery (9/16" to 1/2" to 7/16") increases the flow of oil to the crank at high rpm, and our front oil crossover eliminates internal oil leaks around the distributor shaft.
  • Oil filter pad is drilled and tapped for an external oil pump.
  • Lifter valley head stud bosses prevent blown head gaskets.
  • Rear main cap uses standard oil pump and two piece seal - no adapter required!
  • Mechanical fuel pump boss, clutch linkage mounts, and side and front motor mounts simplify installation in any chassis.
  • Dual oil pan bolt patterns fit standard and notched oil pans.
  • Coated cam bearings, freeze plugs and dowels are NOT included.

Freight:
Cobra Power ships all the engine blocks via Unishippers Ground Freight. I recommend you have your block shipped to a commercial location with access to either a loading dock or fork lift truck. If this is not an available option for you than we can set the freight up for a terminal pick up and lastly if you must have a residential delivery it will be approximately $85 on top of the standard freight. The Jaguar F-Type Coupe (pictured) testing at the Nurburgring The new Jaguar F-Type is a fine looking car, but the F-Type Coupe looks set to be the real looker, and we shouldn’t have to wait too long before the coupe hits a motor show (probably Frankfurt in September). Ahead of that reveal – with a likely on-sale date of early 2014 – Jaguar are out playing with the F-Type Coupe at the Nurburgring, blatting it round the ‘Ring’s unforgiving surfaces and bends to shake the last niggles out before launch. This particular F-Type is undoubtedly the V8 S – which we expect will get the same 495bhp output as the V8 S Roadster – and it sounds great; a wonderful V8 roar as it pounds round the track.

The Focus ST & Jaguar XFR play Sweeney at Goodwood FoS The new Ford Focus ST and the 2012 Jaguar XFR are to take to the Goodwood hillclimb to recreate the Sweeney car chase. It’s been the ‘launch’ of the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, so we’ve has bits of information floating in, like the Mercedes cars- ancient and modern – making an outing, the new Bentley V8 blatting up the hillclimb and the Jaguar XFR getting the prize for the ‘Most Spirited Getaway’ at the start of the hillclimb. But one little outing caught our eye – the re-creation of the scenes from the new Sweeney film with the Jaguar XFR and the new Focus ST.

Mazda6 Venture Edition Mazda has revealed the Mazda6 Venture Edition, a limited edition Mazda6 as a five door petrol or diesel and a diesel estate. Costs from £21,000. The current Mazda6 only has a limited shelf life with the Takeri Concept turning in to the new Mazda6 and due to arrive at the Paris Motor Show in September and go on sale early in 2013.
