Ford and Dodge upgrade police patrol vehicles for Michigan State Police test day

Ford touted the addition of its 3.7-liter V6 engine to its Police Interceptor sedan, and Dodge boasted about the new Charger Pursuit with all-wheel drive on Thursday. That can only mean that the Michigan State Police force is doing its yearly vehicle testing, and two of the Detroit Three are trying to get noticed. Audi is pulling weight out of its A8 limousine and sticking in more power in an effort to stem the expected upsurge from Mercedes-Benz’s all-new S-Class, also being unveiled for the first time at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The all-wheel drive Audi, which is the top-of-the-range Audi limo, may only change a little visually but delivers big upgrades in its driver assistance systems, as well as tightening its fuel consumption by up to 10%. With 625bhp on tap and a kerb weight of around 1200kg, the new supercar is claimed to despatch the 0-60mph in 2.8sec – just 0.3sec slower than a Veyron. Just 50 A10s will be built in Ascari's Banbury plant, with only ten going to UK homes.
