Ford sees bump in sales of fuel efficient cars, vehicles with smaller engines

Ford customers are showing continued preference for new fuel-efficient models and powertrains with less muscle. Combined sales in May for the new Fiesta and Focus totaled 29,423--a 32 percent increase from a year ago. Ford sold 7,120 copies of the Fiesta and 22,303 of the Focus.

It has the cute factor going on, but on the right side of pastiche; prices are much more reasonable than its rival in the ‘small car icon revisited’ stakes – the MINI, and Fiat have done a sterling job on the marketing side. Lotus announces partnership with Mansory

Group Lotus has announced its new collaboration with Mansory, which will become its official customization studio. The German tuner will be contributing bodywork, trim and special finishes for the Elise, Exige and Evora in yet another controversial strategic decision for the UK company. Lotus confirmed the first fruits of this new partnership will be the unveiling a new model variant at September's Paris motor show, two years after the highly ambitious announcement of five new models of which the first is yet to become reality.
