Eterniti Hemera (2011) at Frankfurt motor show

Eterniti Motors – the fledgling UK luxury car start-up – has shown its new Hemera SUV ahead of its debut at this week’s 2011 Frankfurt motor show. It’s now become apparent that Eterniti will rebody the Porsche Cayenne 4x4 at its London factory to an even higher spec – they say – than when it emerges from Stuttgart. So the Eterniti Hemera is a posh Cayenne?

Video: Yasushi Nakamuta on Mazda 3's 'unique' design process

It may be leaden with PR-talk but this short presentation by Yasushi Nakamuta, Mazda's director of advanced design studio at the press unveiling of the new Mazda 3 in Melbourne is still worth a couple of minutes of your time. But while the 3 is undeniably attractive we can't help but feel that the 'unique' design process Nakamuta describes (which appears wholly conventional to us) has resulted in little more than a thoroughly normal product. Along with striking looks, Renault is also offering a raft of clean diesel engines and promising the Megane will feature improved fit and finish, along with better reliability and durability. The new five-door Megane is the first of six new models that will be on sale by 2010 – the line-up includes a three-door variant, an estate, a CC and the Scenic, with production split between France and Spain.
