Datsun Racing Don Potter Dlpe Camshaft #360 510 610 710 L16 L18 L20 L2.2 L2.4 on 2040-parts.com
Prospect Heights, Illinois, US
NEW Datsun Racing, Don Potter camshaft. Part #360-09. Fits Datsun L16, L18, L20, L2.2, L2.4, 510, 610, 710, 620, 200SX. For those of you who do not know who Don Potter is, he was the Datsun guru in the late 70's into the 80's. You can look online for more information about Don. I was a customer of Don's, and picked up a large quantity of his parts. He was very secretive about his cams and his cam designs. Randy Welch won 3 solo national championships running Don's cams and motor parts in his Datsun 510 in the mid 80's. Anyone who has run Don's cams and equipment, have raved about the power. His camshafts put out more power then similar cams with the same lift and duration. His cams had very fast opening speeds (ramps). This one item helps these cams perform beyond other cams. Don studied camshaft design under Ed Iskederian and Harvey Crane. His biggest influence was John DeLong. Don designed and ground his own cam shafts. It took me 12 years to get my hands on one of his camshafts and that was because he passed away and I bought these from his widow. The lift is 540. Don would never tell the duration of his cams. If your the lucky winner, I will let you know the duration. This specific grind is Don's national championship auto cross cam. Randy Welch won 3 solo championships with this grind. It also makes a great vintage race cam and a very hot street cam. I personally have this cam in my motor and have other fellow racers using it. It is a great short road corse cam. This is the largest cam I am offering from Don Potter at this time. Because demand is so high for this cam, I had a master copy made and this is a new regrind.
This camshaft grind, in a 1770cc 4cyl motor, put out 179.8hp to the rear wheels in a 12 to 1 motor with 39 chokes. on the same dyno, a 14 to 1 Rebello motor with 43 chokes with a 1839cc 4cyl motor put out 191hp at a higher rpm.

German Grand Prix Qualifying (2014): Rosberg on pole for Mercedes – Hamilton crashes out
Sat, 19 Jul 2014Rosberg takes pole in the 2014 German Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton managed to close the gap to Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg at the British Grand Prix two weeks ago after Rosberg’s car fell foul to mechanical failure, but it was Lewis’s turn to catch the Mercedes mechanical gremlins today as brake failure in qualifying saw him crash out. Hamilton suffered brake failure ten minutes after qualifying began and crashed heavily at speed in to the stadium section, going out of qualifying and causing a red flag for the session. Lewis was checked over after the heavy crash and is fine, but the pole position subsequently gathered in by team mate Rosberg won’t have been any consolation, Just fou7r points behind Rosberg in the driver’s championship battle after the British Grand Prix, Hamilton now faces a big uphill struggle to minimize Rosberg’s advantage in tomorrow’s race, but at least Hamilton’s first flying lap before the crash has sealed him 15th spot for the race.
