Waterproof Manual Trip/Reset Surface Mount Circuit Breaker 175A

Brand: Mechanical Products Company
Rating: 175 Amp Continuous
Type: III - Manual Reset (Switchable)

The MP Series 17 Thermal Circuit Breakers are designed for branch circuit protection in industrial/commercial vehicle applications, including Construction, Agriculture, Truck, Bus, RV, Marine, Automotive Lifts, Auto Racing, Battery Chargers and more. Designed to protect wiring, lighting, batteries, motors, pumps, alternators, air compressors, inverters, converters and generators, where waterproof (IP 67) breakers are necessary. These high quality circuit protection devices offer a variety of features.

The 17 Series Breaker offers a robust thermoplastic material case enclosure, designed with superior moisture sealing, in a Standard Surface configuration. The Surface Mount units are designed with Heavy Duty 3/8" diameter Stainless Steel terminal studs and Stainless Steel sems nuts. The termination stud spacing has been designed to accept standard ring terminal configurations. Priced competitively, these high-quality breakers are assembled right here, in the USA!

Perfect for adding short circuit protection to battery cables with heavy duty 3/8" lug terminals, these are well suited for use in Automotive, Marine and RV applications. Race cars can place this circuit breaker between the trunk-mounted battery and the Main Power Kill Switch. If you get in a wreck and your battery cable shorts to the frame or body, the breaker contacts will open and the yellow lever will pop down, breaking current flow until you manually reset it. You can also manually trip the breaker by pushing the blue button, which is a handy way to quickly disconnect power.

The circuit breaker allows a continuous current flow of 175 amps. If amperage exceeds that, the breaker will pop open with time. The higher the amperage rises above the rated capacity, the quicker the breaker will pop. The less it exceeds the rated capacity, the slower it will pop the breaker. This keeps you from popping the breaker due to in-rush current (a temporary current spike) from the starter motor during initial starter activation. The breaker will not pop if continuous amperage is 175 or less.

Don't settle for cheap Chinese junk! This is a heavy duty quality piece, made right here in the USA! In stock, fast shipping!

Note: The stock photos do not show it, but the actual product you will receive has a white "175" printed on the middle left side of the breaker, just above the yellow lever, indicating that it is the 175 amp version.
