| Back to top | ABOUT THE MANUFACTURER | About DC Sports
DC Sports was founded by Darrell and Darrick Contreras as a high quality designer and manufacturer of performance products to address the developing Sport Compact Market. In 1987 American Honda commissioned DC Sports to develop a header for their SCCA prepped CRX s and the result cumulated was our first 4 into 1 header design. It was so well received that Honda requested headers for other applications. That system is the one that started it all ( HHC5002) The Sport Compact Market was originally based almost entirely on the air-cooled Volkswagen Beetle but beginning in the 1970s and into the 1980s the Sport Compact Market was primarily based on popular Japanese small cars that were great cars to begin with but also excellent platforms for various tuning modifications. Throughout the 1990s DC Sports was synonymous with Honda and Acura performance and expanded its product line to include Street-Legal and Competition Headers Exhaust Systems Strut Tower Braces Short Shifters and other accessories. DC Sports developed unique designs that performed better and therefore became the brand of choice for serious Honda and Acura enthusiasts. DC Sports has always been first and foremost about performance but there is also no other product that has the DC Sports look feel and quality. In 2004 DC Sports was purchased by Advanced Engine Management ( AEM) a leading manufacturer of performance parts specializing in air induction and electronics for the Sport Compact and Truck/ SUV Markets. AEM continued the strong DC Sports tradition of producing the very best exhaust products and developed an even stronger connection to motorsports for the brand. Pilot Automotive entered the picture in 2007 when it purchased the aftermarket assets and intellectual property of DC Sports from AEM. Pilot is one of the largest accessory and performance product suppliers to both the automotive and truck markets. Pilot owns a number of well known brands such as Pilot Red Line APC Bully The Baja Champions DME (Design Motorsports Engineering) VPS (Vehicle Performance Systems) Racing Sports Akimoto and Dub Air. DME and DC Sports operate as sister companies and now with the addition of Racing Sports Akimoto the Pilot Group can offer products such as Air Intake Systems Headers and Cat-Back Exhaust Systems that are designed to work together. Every DC Sports product design is dyno-tested to achieve the maximum performance. Since the acquisition by Pilot DC Sports is already at work on new applications. DC Sports has a comprehensive global distribution network and is headquartered in City of Industry California. The DC Sports brand will always stand for the very best in performance!

Mercedes SL63 AMG Video
The official public debut of the 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG is at Geneva next week and Mercedes has divvied up a video to pique interest. It’s easy to think of the Mercedes SL as an old man’s convertible; a soft and soggy soft-top for those who are more interested in the pose than the drive. But that’s not really been true for a long time, and certainly not in the SL AMG models, which have offered real performance and decent dynamics since arriving as the SL55 AMG a decade ago.

This week has thrown up some surprising financial results for struggling car manufacturers from all corners of the industry. Last February, at the release of the Quattroporte Automatica saloon, chief exec Roberto Ronchi promised an end to Maserati’s financial woes. Five months later, the Italian supercar maker sees black for the first time in its 17-year Fiat stewardship.

Jaguar XJS - traded for a Hyundai i10 under the Scrappage scheme
But it does seem to be producing good results for Hyundai, with their Hyundai i10 flying out of showrooms. Which is no real surprise. The £2,000 Scrappage allowance is a big chunk of such a cheap car, and is probably achievable for a high number of owners of ‘Clunkers’.
