Wed, 02 Dec 2009The £124,900 Nissan GT-R SpecV for the UK It’s almost a year since Nissan announced the GT-R SpecV for the Japanese market – and ten months since it went on sale – but they’ve just announced a limited run of Nissan GT-R SpecV for the UK and European markets. Just 40 will be produced at a slightly pricey £124,900 – more than twice the price of the Standard Nissan GT-R. If you use anything else as a benchmark for value for performance the GT-R SpecV stacks up.

The A-BAT is a compact pick-up, akin to a RAV4 in size, featuring a four-cylinder petrol/electric hybrid and solar panels built into the top of the dashboard efficient enough to power the sat-nav and other interior tools. The much-vaunted Prius was indeed an influence in the A-BAT’s green-tinged exterior design leanings.
Toyota ends powertrain deal with Tesla
Wed, 14 May 2014To the surprise of no one, Toyota has announced the end of a partnership with Tesla that gave rise to the slow-selling RAV4 EV, which will be replaced by a fuel cell car next year. Toyota has said that it can't meet California's zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate profitably with electric cars, but it thinks it can make money, or at least not lose so much of it, with fuel cells. Toyota signed a $100 million joint development deal in 2011 with Tesla, to build powertrains for its RAV4 EV.
