Lotus 'Eagle' (2009): first pictures
Tue, 15 Jul 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 15 July 2008 19:00 This is the long-awaited new Lotus 2+2, with a 3.5-litre Toyota V6 and four apparently useable seats. It's the first new Lotus for 13 years and a pretty significant launch, due for its show debut at the 2008 London motor show later this month on 22 July 2008. That's when we’ll find out the name of this new Lotus – codenamed Eagle – but in the meantime the company is teasing us with some new details.

When Mazda revealed the new Mazda6 (well, most of it) a week ago, we did say we half expected they’d arrive with the new Mazda6 at the Paris Motor Show in September with the new Mazda6 Estate alongside. Looks like we were right.
Volvos to get twin-clutch gearbox
Wed, 14 May 2008By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 14 May 2008 13:33 Volvo’s C30, S40 and V50 are now available with a new six-speed twin-clutch ‘box – dubbed Powershift – mated to the company’s 134bhp 2.0-litre diesel. The new twin-clutch gearbox has been developed with Getrag (and Volvo's parent company Ford), and is basically the same unit recently announced in the Focus and C-Max. Volvo claims the new gearbox offers an 8 percent improvement in fuel consumption over a conventional six-speed automatic.
