Cyclists tackle round-the-world race

FOUR RIDERS have set off on what is described as the world's longest bicycle race. Three started from London and one from Bangkok in a bid to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest circumnavigation of the planet. The World Cycle Race launched from the prime meridian next to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park.

Autoweek's Best of the Best winners announced

Today, Autoweek announced the winners of our yearly Best of the Best competition with the Porsche Boxster S and Mercedes-Benz GL taking top honors. Presenting the awards, editor Wes Raynal said, “It was a tough call to make this year with so many incredible cars and trucks that debuted. Future products: GMC looks beyond trucks to compact car

GMC, traditionally a home for rebadged Chevrolet trucks with more content, is preparing to jolt its lineup with a compact car aimed at young urban buyers. General Motors Co. is expected to bring the GMC Granite to market in 2013.
