Peugeot 5 concept car (2010): first photos

Mon, 15 Feb 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 15 February 2010 18:30 The '5 by Peugeot' is a heavy hint of what to expect from the new Peugeot 508. Forget the silly name, we'll call it the Peugeot 5 concept car. The Lamborghini of today is a far cry from the Lamborghini of old. Starting life as a tractor maker, Lamborghini cars came in to being when Ferruccio Lamborghini complained to Enzo Ferrari about the clutch on his new Ferarri. The dismissive response was that “the fault is with the driver, not the car”, and so was born Ferruccio Lamborghini’s resolve to build a car to take on the might of Marenello from his factory in Sant’Agata (incidentally, when Lamborghini took apart the transmission in question, he discovered is was the same unit he was currently building in to his tractors!).

Buick is adding a turbo variant this fall as the premium model for the Verano lineup. While it's meant to be sporty, the idea behind the sedan is to offer buyers a reasonably powerful option that allows for more amusing commutes, but admittedly, it isn't a dedicated performance model. This is a measured approach, which means extra output for expressway merges and launches from lights, but no hard-core suspension or brake packages.
